Hi Michael. I fish SML for stripers regularly and enjoyed your video but please set a good example by practicing catch and release. It's great to keep one every now and then to share with family or friends- just don't overdo it. The fun is in the catching, not the cooking. Thanks!
Hey Gary, depending on the time of year it’s better to keep them than let them go. Biologically, they can’t handle the warmer waters in law oxygen and will die if they are released. We actually did what the biologist suggested and kept our limit of two per day, and I don’t think I’m setting a bad example by doing that. If you follow my channel, you know that I release 99% of the fish I catch. On that particular trip the goal was to keep them for a fish fry.

I’m going to be honest with you, I’m not sure what kind of boat Bob owns. But you can pull this off with any type of bass boat or bass tracker, you could even use of Pontoon Boat when they are busting on the surface like this.

Spooks work good for when fish bust top water. We have caught a lot of bass on spooks at Watauga. Good job
