I also have a 95 yj. Those mounts for the soft top go right on top of the windshield facing out so you can hook the front lip of the top to it. I just screwed mine in with self tappers and rubber washers. Cool mods by the way.

Hey Mark. Welcome to the jeep club! I certainly feel your pain with the whole “supposed to fit your jeep” line. I have an 1988 YJ that I’m the proud original owner of and I’ve had to do a lot of mods and restoration work on it over the years.... I’ve banged my head against the wall on a number of occasions due to ordering stuff that was supposed to fit only to end up sending it back or using a hammer to MAKE it fit. However, I do have some suggestions for you. I would stay away from eBay or amazon. At least until you are more familiar with the jeep item you intend to buy (meaning when you know the right questions to ask before you buy) I tend to use companies like Morris 4x4 (George is my go to guy there) and Extreme Terrain. They are all on line and they will ship to you. Unfortunately, even these companies as the years go by and they hire the younger guys who only know how to look something up on a computer, sometimes they will try and sell you the wrong part. But for the most part you will get items that bolt right in and that’s the best feeling in the world. Lastly, make sure you ask if the part comes with hardware. Several aftermarket manufacturers assume that you are going to use the original hardware. And that’s fine until the bolt, screw or nut on your jeep is so rusted that it disintegrates in your hand. On the positive side... my Jeep is 32 years old and it still gets the girls to look my way! Good Luck with the project and enjoy the Jeep. Rick
