Your suggestion is a good idea and works for the short term, however I had an opening in the glued seam where moisture was entering. It rains a lot in Seattle and the moisture would have been back in a day or two. My only option was to open the case and reseal it. So far the headlight assembly is still clear!
Great video! Thanks for uploading. Perhaps blowing warm air through the bulb holes would have dried up the moisture, I referenced this video to learn how to remove the assembly. I have a 2000 Ford Contour (:
Thanks for the video. I thought $160 for a pair of new replacements sounded like a lot. It's looking more like a bargain. That's some PITA (Pain In The Azz) work!
jeepers walley the house smells like glue your wife is gonna clobber ya,and hey wall ? wouldn't heatin the lens 3 times at 275 degrees age that lens 10 years? it might start crackin or something.
Wife doesn't use the kitchen that much! Lens isn't cracked yet but the plasticizer is wearing out. Looks like I'm going to have to refinish the outside of the lens every few months now.
+Ryan Morehead toothpaste my ass.. the correct way is to use sand paper and wáter 500 1000 and 2500 then polish then clearcoat that''s it tooth paste is for lazy people
I used have a 1998 Ford Contour. I did remove the headlights w/o removing the grill.

Bro, just buy a new one. $150 for the pair.
PlastX, rub on and rub off, takes 5 mins, costs about $7, lasts a few months. Inside lens? Buy a new lens, unless your time isn't worth anything.
