Constellation Taurus best ship 🦾
cannot wait for the rework
@@LemonToGo oh yes that ship needs it badly, i want to use the table xD
Gotta agree, I've used it more than any other in 3.24
@@Sparkp1ug same, Taurus is my main ship since release
It really is a great value. Maybe the sweet spot.
Finally the Nomad getting some credit! Nice chat lads!
I agree that this patch helped give the Nomad a good niche to fill, but I also agree that it has made the Taurus shine like no other for cargo given its price point compared to bigger cargo ships.
Looking sharp as ever Algared!
I have the MSR. With an ATLAS it's great. Record so far is 107SCU with ATLAS in cargo bay as well. The only time I use the tunnels under the ship is because you need to pack up right up to the lift and use the tunnel to reach the rest of the ship via the other side of the cargo bay from the lift
I couldn't have agreed more on the number of ships that wouldd be in common with my list as well. I love the MAX, and look forward to CIG giving the Freelancer and Connie ships some updating love. Good stuff - 'nuff said!
OMG Y'all have gone mental. Hull A holds 64 SCU one of the cheapest cargo ships to buy in game.
The Nomad will always be better than the 315p for its functionality and able to carry a Roc.
Andromeda should have never been mentioned.
Well that's all the critiques I have for today . Though I still enjoy watching you guys even this time I strongly disagree with y'all's choices. Good day to you
Nomad is just silly with price. If it was 70 it would be fine. When you hit 80 like that then just get to the cutlass and call it a day
@@schlagzahne6741 The theme of the video was top 10. Best ships for 3.24 and they mentioned that price of real life money is not considered. I agree it is $15 overpriced I had used warbond ccu and got one for 65 it is the best ship in game that can carry a Roc
@Metro2Metro haven't watched since I was in a place where I couldn't listen in.
But yes if you get the nomad cheap it's a nice little crunchwrap supreme
Totally agree with the 315p tractor beam relocation. That would solve the problem. Thanks Inforunners for another great video!
The 315p's tractor seems like it's intended for a quick in-and-out smash and grab 😝...then load whatever you tractored into the cargo hold after you've flown to a safe area.
My guess about the ATLS: they forced it to carry the box way up high to prevent its use in combat.
It it could carry a giant box in front, then you would find them being used as mobile shields for an entire infantry squad. A box to the side and it would crab-walk for the same thing.
As-is, we already saw folks using thrown furniture as shipkillers. To the point where CiG had to nerf couches.
Big ships are punching bags in the current meta and I am starting to believe CIG will fail..
I don't understand why the Andromeda, Corsair, or 315p made the lost, and the freshly toughened MSR, Caterpillar, and MPUV-T did not...
Because they haven't been 'freshly toughened' as of yet i suspect. When they are the Zeus will be out also so this list might be even more out by then.
@@honey-fe6pj The list of component changes was pretty comprehensive. It wasn't "oh, we haven't gotten to these ships yet", it was "these were changes made to balance to help ships fit their roles better, and not all need adjusted to fit."
@@AccidentalFriendlyFire Yes but the changes are not in game as yet. Maybe they decided to list the ships as they are now and not what is planned and/or expected but not yet released.
Minor quibble: the 315p is a great little ship just as it is. No adjustment to the tractor beam is necessary, as it isn't needed for self-loading. Otherwise, good list.
I’m not in the game so I don’t know how well they are performing when compared to these 10…
SRV? Maybe it doesn’t replace the outlier but it’s tracker beam I would think is the space equivalent to the ATLS
Hull-A? Carries more then the Nomad for the solo hauler entry
Raft? Not sure if it’s tracker beam is effective yet, but in the patch of manual loading, I would think it’s value would soar
Thanks for the content
RAFT is in a bad spot right now
its cargo arms really limit it to carry 6 larger boxes without being able to make full use of the 96 SCU unless you take 16 SCU or 32 SCU containers
with that issue it actually has less efective capacity than the Hull A
If CIG makes engineering a PIA, they will kill large ship sales.
Where do you get this nonsense from? . Us with many large ships can't wait., You'll just have to adapt or die...
Since it looks like a big Cutter, I'd name that ship the Chopper.
Looks good. Come 4.0, big ships will be almost impossible to use effectively solo. Even the Connie, Corsair size ships could be tough to manage, let alone anything bigger than that. I have finally seen the light though and have realized that CCU's are just CI's way of getting "new" money from us. No more...I really hope they stop introducing new concept ships and focus on game play and delivering the actual game. Enough ships already!!! Clean up the backlog before introducing any more and bring the game out of ALPHA...
I expect a lot of players to be mad that they can't solo the big ships they bought anymore. I'll be swapping out my Taurus for a smaller multi-role/cargo focused ship. I always knew it would eventually be too big to solo.
The people that make the ships don't work on game mechanics or anything else. They are specialized in their field. So, it's not a matter of focusing them on something else, but rather CIG finishing S42 and refocusing THOSE ppl into making Star Citizen. The ships will never stop coming, stop worrying about new ships
If many ships are effectively not "soloable" it will be huge impact on sales. I bought some "bigger" ships (like Conni) with NPC-Crew/Blades in mind, but as long CIG don't offer plans for NPC-Crew i will not spent anything on SC. If you barely can fly a Zeus solo, it will also lock solo players out of many gameplay-loops because of qt-range etc (i get my fighter barely to the next planet in stanton)
I know you can join an org and i also have friends playing SC, but there are many times were no one is around or has not enough time or is far away.
And as an old eve player, getting more than 8 players (at the same place and time) together and coordinate them is like a second job, many modern successful games have hop-on-hop-off mechanics and fairly low requirements in manpower.
I hope maybe CIG will lighten this up in near future.
@@JamestheKilljoy Ok, then work on the 20 year backlog of previous "Concept Ships" and stop selling new Concepts...
CIG can't stop the ship pipeline.
They burn cash. The money needed for the ship backlog is long gone.
The backlog is pure debt.

Good list. So far, I’ve been using the C2 for cargo since 3.24.1 dropped, with the ATLS. The ease of use for hauling - tractor beaming and placement - makes it a no-brainer. I'm usually running 3 to 7 missions' worth of boxes on the ship at any one time. 🫡📦🚀
Great setup. I’m doing that with my A2, obviously less cargo but that atls in a herc is fantastic. Very different than the doomers who were beating the anti herc drum.
Also can't believe the Hull A didn't feature on this list. You can run 4 simultaneous planetary member missions & it's the easiest by far to load/offload. Travesty it wasn't included
I had a slightly longer break from the game than usual, what do you mean by "planetary member missions"?
@@Spelljammer1It’s a new subtype of the new cargo mission system. ‘Member’ is the rank level and ‘Planetary’ means its endpoint is on a moon/planet. Cheers o7
@@skullhqx ah many thanks! sounds interesting, I look forward to give it a try while I have a Hull A loaner :)
Guys you can get the ATLS into the Salvage Processing Bay on the Reclaimer. You walk it onto the lift, and then get out of it. Take the lift up. Then walk yourself into the Salvage Processing Bay and then use a handheld tractor beam to drag it through the door into the bay. Once it's through the door, get back in it and park it where you want to keep it. Mine lives in Salvage Processing.
How usefull is it though?
@@vakeervondelecruax8526 for getting those big 16scu crates parked on the grid fast, it’s very useful. The bottleneck on the Reclaimer comes when you’re unloading - the elevator is way too small for a ship of this size.
I have been using the Taurus for cargo missions and bounty hunting. It makes me question why I have anything else. That turret tractor beam is amazing. And the 174scu with the shields and weapons and missiles.
Taurus is love, Taurus is life. Taurus Master Race.
Leave 315p alone! You're totally missing the point! It's the only ship that allows you to solo-pilot and tractor an object **at the same time** and it has a quantum drive (unlike MPUV-T, which can also do that)! No other ship can do that! I don't need to load the super small cargo bay with a turret tractor beam, while I can do it much more precisely using a hand-held tractor beam.
Dude you misread the title.
@@deivoc4950 I expected someone to say that, but no, I didn't misread the title. I am responding to their ideas how to make the 315p tractor beam "better". In which case their context is irrelevant because that would be a permanent change affecting also the context I described and all other possible contexts.
Your missing one ship that does all that the srv
Im very excited for engineering gameplay with my Org. Im also excited to see the value of these solo ships go way up since there will be more of a reason to have them and use them.
You're forgetting hit points. Andromeda has like 180K Taurus has 130 and Corsair if I remember has about 90K.
Huge differences
15:59 No. We should not be able to adjust the height of the cargo boxes in the ATLS. That makes it too good, we need a reason for handheld tractor beams, those give us finesse and accuracy. ATLS is for fast, bulk cargo with less accuracy/finesse.
Need to trim off your tabs from your stream window. Couldn’t help but check the spoilers
I cannot wait until we get the VULCAN. That ship looks so so cool.
great analysis
If you shoot the lightbar off the ROC it also fits in the Vulture :)
you can get the Atlas into the reclaimer easy just gotta hop out and tractor it , that damn reclaimer door has always been an issue it even blocks the boxes, thats just the reclaimer needing a rework.
ATLS does suggest that a Reclaimer gold standard should probably be in the cards soonish. Totally agreed on the last ship - I still think it's going to be a darkhorse for one of the better ships in the game, period. Of all the variants, it carries twice the cargo, or can carry a vehicle AND the same amount of cargo as the others
@Inforunners
...well, I got my self ships that I need, just waiting for full implementation of some of the non working things, and yes, I am a Drake nerd. Of course, I did test all other ships with ingame creds, some are interesting. But here it is: Drake Cutter Scout, Drake Cutlass Black, Drake Herald, Drake Corsair, Drake Caterpillar Pirate, Drake Vulture, Drake Dragonfly, Drake Mule, MISC Prospector, ARGO MPUV Tractor, ARGO ATLS ...thinking of buying additional one of the Drake Ironclads, MISC Starfarer (prob Gemini) and one of the MISC Reliants. So, what do you think?
ATLS is not a ship though. The Hull A and Raft are my go to.
It would be cool if CIG make the ATLS, when no one is in it, compact down in to a 'box on wheels' to put it into smaller vehicles. Maybe even with a trolley handle. And then fold back open in its deployable state.
maybe able to be held by a mule? (in box form.)
To be fair Algared, not many people use the merlin because its always bugged (redocking etc).
Nice collection of ships and thoughts!
My favorites are:
- Cutlass Black - its so easy to load, fast in out, just does the job very well
- Vulture - makes good money, you are so flexible can do everything, like the Cutlass its relativly safe to go in out without opening the cargo ramp
- Hull A - cheap and can load a ton fast and easy (GIB Hull B!)
- RAFT -
great list. I think the Taurus is #1 but only because it has more cargo, great pilot guns and a really great turret. But I personally don't think the tractor beam is useful and is really a non factor in why it's so good. it's not really in a great spot and ship tractor beams haven't really been that usefull over the tractor rifle. To use a ship tractor beam is honestly more of a hinderance. Its easier to use the rifle. I think it should have been a remote turret where the merlin should have been instead of the turret tractor beam.
old man hurston seceretly loves drake and stolen a drake prototype ship form drakes dock yards but they blew it up so the blue prints could not be replicated by hurton lol🏴☠old man hurston the first priate to own a planet
Reclaimer should have a seige ship variant with a command center, front ramp for vehicles and troop transport.
Your background’s the Drake Corsapillar
They ought to make the Raft be able to swap out the claws for an upside-down cargo pad like the Misc ships have on them
17:48 uhmmm can you still throw the A1 bombs? Making it a small artillery?
No MSR? Its in my top 3 daily driver even before getting shield buff
I want to see a reliant medical variant.
Enjoyed the discussion, thank you
Ship pic Drake Algared 😅😂
Fun, thank you 🤠
The Hurston eraser. Used to wipe out galactic scum
10. A2 (for clearing out landing zone to drop off cargo)
9. Eclipse (for scattering cargo)
8. Caterpillar (for rerouting cargo)
7. Mantis (for trapping cargo)
6. Pulse (for solo sneaking up on cargo)
5. F7A mkII (for shooting cargo)
4. Corsair (for aggressively negotiating a transfer of cargo)
3. Legionnaire (for 10 people to search for cargo))
2. Valkyrie (looks amazing carrying some cargo)
1. Terrapin. No matter what, always Terrapin.

Huh?
@deivoc4950 it's his special joke.
IIRC the tractor on the 315 is actually just a utility hardpoint, the idea being you can mount other stuff on there, a scanning array etc. The tractor is there because it's the only thing in-game that can go there.
