My own Grandmother and Great Grandmother were from Fenit, and my Grandmother, Kathleen Brosnan, was born and bred in Fenit and was a cousin of Martin Ferris. She moved to Bradford, in England, with my Grandfather in the fifties. She passed away in the sixties, aged just 29 years old, after rearing five children and then contracting breast cancer. My Mother misses her terribly, still. We vmdont revisit Kerry anywhere near as much as we ought to, but my Great Uncle, Patrick Brosnan and his wife and adult children have all moved back home now so we have even more reason to get home more often. We miss home.
Absolute stalwarts of the Republican movement, who have rightfully earned their legendary status and rank within the movement and beyond. God bless them all.
No time for modern day SF ! But I have for the men and women in the PIRA who brought the war to the British state on behalf of are people in ulster Ireland 🇮🇪 .
Read John Crawley’s book the Yank, where it is very clear that this operation was compromised by a famous and self-serving informer. And no, it hardly made a noticeable dent in the acquisition of weapons for the IRA.
my understanding was that Sean O'Callaghan according to An Phoblact an numerous republicans exagerated his role in the Ira and was essientialy a walt, how then would he have known of this operation long before anyone else as Martin puts it?
Remember well , that trawler was berthed on Dublin quay, filled with cylinders of gas and oily rags, fire men responded and could have been killed or injured, all for insurance. Nice one.
@@longmemory1620 You must be talking about the Catholic Church's cover up of sexual abuse of children. And the murders committed by the UDR and their ilk .Biden 2020.
@@ainlefoley7672 Guildhall bombing, got the date wrong it was March21st 1972, I was almost 4 years old and walking down Shipquay street with my brother who was almost 9 years old when the bomb detinated.

Not all operations like this were compromised.

up the provos
The prison sentences were quite lenient considering you can get five years if you get caught with just one firearm in the UK.
Read up on the conditions in Port Laoise prison in the 70s. You'll never call them lenient again
Few ones sentenced to 600 years for republican activities hardly lenient those circumstances
Maith Thu lads✊

Everyone’s a “Walt” if you listen to republicans, definitely no one was a tout. Just bad luck several arms shipments were intercepted.
Brilliant the lads singing rebel songs 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪💚💚

I wonder how many murders of innocent Irish men would have been perpetrated, had the guns not been stopped.
