My favorite movie of all time
This movie is a masterpiece. I enjoyed every bit of it. I think the quiet samurai character is one of my favorite right after the leader. I don't think the reviewer give him enough attention his acting is subtle and has a quiet humor. When he retrieves the rifle and goes to sleep his smile goes through me.
Thank you for posting, excellent commentaries, I've seen this movie many times, my favorite and it introduced my to Kurosawa and all his other films and Japanese cinema in general.
Thank you! Really enjoyed this.
I'm watching it at the minute...just hit intermission... there's one shot in the woods with the young samurai and the girl pretending to be a boy...georgous shot... almost a painting for a split second... don't know why i missed that before
Really appreciate your uploads to people who don't have access these kind of commentaries. It provides deeper insights to the scenes and histories of the film. If it's not too much to ask could you maybe upload the commentary track for Ran (1985)?
Glad you enjoy them. There is commentary for the Ran done by Stephen Prince, unfortunately I was unable to get my hands on it.
this is really interesting, wish i had the patience to listen to it all
Love this this commentary especially Mellen and Prince. Do you maybe have a commentary track for an Ozu film?
Glad you enjoyed it. I may be able to upload commentary for the Ozu's Tokyo Story if you are interested.
@@Disconnectmyself OH GOD YES! Please! I love that film, it was so heart breaking and the first Ozu film I ever watched. If you could upload a commentary track for that I’d be SO greatful
