To put pressure on The UAW you would have to put pressure on their members and that's not going to happen. These men and women have dealt with nothing but pressure working for the big 3 sense 2009. The pressure of trying to figure out away to feed their family and pay bills. The pressure of trying to figure out away how to spend time with their family's while working crazy hours. The pressure of trying to work these jobs for as long as they can without destroying their body's because their is no light at the end of the tunnel (pension). The pressure of waking up and finding out your job was moved to Mexico. The UAW is feed up with the bs and no one is going to pressure them. PAY THEM OR REAP THE CONSEQUENCES! This is all on the big 3!
I currently work with a big three manufacturer as a UAW employee. We will absolutely strike we have lost so much for many years while the corporate world has record profits the prior corrupt UAW sold the membership it is now time to take back what we have lost
To me its clear EV's are the future but the big three can't seem to get it together for a compelling EV. Do you think the ICE workforce will have a job in 10 years? Do you think EV's will significantly reduce labor needed to build cars, if so where is UAW on this when the market shifts?
@@scoty_does ICE workers will need to shift more towards EV manufactoring. If already working with EV's, you're in a better place. Not sure why its still called the "Big 3", should be called the "Mid 3". Toyota is way bigger, Volkswagen is only getting bigger with it's head start in EV's, Korean carmakers are already caught up if not ahead in the major car segments. Outside of Tesla, the major producers will be all international companies. The "Mid 3" will still benefit from the arbitrage created in the US with the business tax benefits of buying pickup trucks, and make cuts to become just pickup car sellers.
We took concessions in 2007/2008 we want them back. Crazy thing is the salaried employees didn’t take any concessions those years. Matter of fact they all still received their full bonuses during that time.
Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares had total compensation of $24.8 million (23.5 million euros) in 2022, GM CEO Mary Barra's 2022 compensation: $28,979,570, Ford CEO Jim Farley's 2022 compensation falls slightly to $20.9 million. These CEOs make close to 300 times what a worker makes. Lastest reports Ford profit $25.5B, GM profit $22.5B, Sellantis $12B.
When they go around with a stop watch to fill every second of your job cycle (and beyond) it uses your body up... This can't be overstated... I had a old timer tell me that a little piece of you goes down the line every day... I said mentally,... he said no,... physically...
worst part is even if UAW comes out on top in this with better pay and benefits, the average american consumer is going to be the one to feel it. These mega companies don't lose on their bottom line and you know those CEO's aren't giving up a penny of their multi-million dollar salaries. I hope UAW wins because they deserve to be paid a fair wage just like everyone does in this country but its lose lose situation for the average person when it comes to how much your car is gonna cost.
Good Luck, I want everything back from 2003 when they started stealing it from us through hardball tactics and politcal favors! These companies don't know what pressure is.
The shell of the US auto industry is sad. I’m in the west coast n only trucks are valued. The share of sales is utterly pathetic and sure hope that this doesn’t backfire… business is basicallly dead
In 2009 when the UAW ratified the concession contract to help GM after bankruptcy, President and CEO Rick Wagoner promised to return all concession back to the union workers. This is a promise that Mary Berra has repeatedly refused to keep and publicly said so. It's past time for promises to be kept.
If COLA come back the workers that was a part of that deal an now retired need 2 get a check from 2007 till they retired n 2016 an 2019 or 2020 that fair
The UAW should have negotiated sunset clauses on the concessions that they agreed to in the past to secure the bailout money from the government, and what they gave up to help return the companies to profitability. They are now trying to get back in two months what took decades to give away. I hope they succeed but the odds are against them.
Why are you calling them the Big 3? There is no more Big Three unless you’re including Toyota. Also, Stellantis is a European company so there brands are not part of the original American “Big Three”. No matter how you slice it… no big three anymore

All truth
The tier 2 get a 401k match, they don’t need a pension! The match is way better
@@warrenranstrom4462 The match is only as good as the economy when you retire. The value of your 401k goes up and down. Your pension is a set amount.
@@jbspaintanddetailing7696 yes but the pension is void the day you die and cannot be passed down. A vested 401k can be inherited.
@@warrenranstrom4462 I'm not here to discuss which is better. I'm just here to let it be known why we are having talks about strike

Yellow Truck it!
UAW workers are tainted. No company should have the infestation.
The blame is 💯 % on the companies.

Let Klaus Schwab's friend, Mary Barra, know that we won't eat the bugs or stay in our pods.
September has such nice weather for a militant strike.🍂🫕🍂
