      I thought so too, but they wouldn't when I ran these tests. Maybe I didn't leave them in there long enough, or they were having a weird pathing issue.

    I wonder if you could hide a Broadbent/Firespark style boar breeder in a granary style structure to get a nice combination of form and function, perhaps making use of torches under the granary to scare any of the piggies that fall down below into a proper pen, together with some stairs/slopes and beams to keep them from wandering back under the granary.

    • @cursedsummoner
      @cursedsummoner 3 года назад +3

      I saw a design that had the baby pigs land on a 45° roof and make them slide down. After they matured they would start pushing each other on a second slide that ended in camp fires to auto kill them. You only needed to swing by every now and then to pick up the loot.

    • @quicksandriggs

    • @LoadDiscrepancy
      @LoadDiscrepancy 3 года назад +1

      I made one attached to a draugr spawn, so when I open the doors for the adult pigs, they drop through and the draugr attack them and a big fight breaks out. Right outside the gates are some thistles. I aptly named this outpost "The sausage factory".

    So tip:
    There is not a chance of baby from each parent. Both of them can produce a baby and they will produce whatever their level is. You can test this. They can breed through a fence if they get close enough. Push a 0 star and X star together though the fence and you will end up with only the same type as the parent on each side.

    The point of having a double pen is so that you don't hit all of the boars when you harvest. Now that the butcher's knife is in the game, this seems not to matter any more. So now a single pen is most efficient?

    • @quicksandriggs

    Is there any truth to something I heard in another video, that the Runestones that talk about how to tame boars are in fact boar-spawners? Supposedly if you kill all the boar in the area and come back later, you can reliably find a new spot for them to be. Useful for looking for the rare 2-star.

    So the proximity of other boars affects the frequency of boar pregnancy. But does that affect how quickly the first pregnancy comes on? I was thinking I could keep pairs of boars near to each other, but just not breed often. Then when I need pork I'll go feed them all. Since they haven't breed in a while, it should be pretty quick right? Or will it be a long time from the moment I give them the food?

    • @quicksandriggs
      @quicksandriggs  Год назад +2

      If there are too many boars near each other they won't produce babies at all, once the boar limit is reached within an area, they stop getting pregnant.
      After you've moved them apart and then fed them it will be the same amount of time to reproduce regardless of how long they've gone without a baby.
