A Forstner Drill Bit, which is flat on the bottom would work the best for drilling this hole deeper. I would also not be afraid to use a cordless drill with a variable speed trigger, just of course go very slowly and check your work often.

i installed at my Les Paul Faber 6 /32 ABR 1 bridge ,so the studs got 0,3mm loose if you drill all central ,with accurate measures of the bridge. But Faber got three version of both bridges, 6/32 " Metrical 4 mm, and Metrical 4 mm with a conical counterscrew.

Just jumped in to say that I love your music. I was curious about the intro and found a playlist with your album. Mate you should put more information in the description about that intro, which would eventually lead users to your good quality music. Keep going on, I love your goofy tinkering videos but you music it's really some good shit.

@@NathanSink Bernie Marsden who owns a great all original 59 ("the beast") said during a seminar a few years back
that a few Re-issues he has played were actually just as good as his 59. Now maybe he is saying that to help Gibson but i doubt it?
Since builders like Chris Derrig, Max Barlett and Gil Yaron have proven it can be done with replica's that they have made
i don't think Bernie was promoting Gibson for sales. Killer Re-issues/clones exist you just have to play enough of them.

I've heard of people using shielding tape around the post, both top and bottom on the thumb wheel to tighten up every thing, they do sell domed thumb wheel, which accounts for play but helps zero it out and return in tune, Faber sells these dome wheels.

Hello I stumbled upon your video because my bridge is not only tilting forward but it's loose. The washer is tilted slightly up towards the neck. You really have to look at it though. If I get a tone pro will it fix the situation possibly?

Hey there Nathan....Faber makes/made a wireless abr1 bridge. The front had a little overhang that kept the saddles from falling out. Enjoy your content. Thanks...jimmy

@@NathanSink If you really want to make it like the original ABR you get some maple dowling, fill the holes and screw a 6-32 stud directly into the wood. Using the adapters that press into the wood is pretty much the same as correctly reaming out an ABR to fit the nashville posts. I believe someone makes an ABR to fit the nashville studs. A 6-32 is a #6x32 threads per inch. Standard U.S. screw size and what was used on original ABR guitars. Mechanically, the nashville set up is far superior to studs in the wood. After years of trying to adjust bridge with string tension the 6-32 studs strip out. Worked on several guitars with this issue. Sonically, in a blind test you might, that's might hear a difference in the bridges but using same bridge never hear a difference in the studs used. Like having bumblebee caps, it's great if you wanna keep it looking vintage but has no sonic value.

A forstner bit or a fluted bit run backwards will remove a small amount of material without the bit biting in.
