I was captivated by this piece, which i had playing in the background when i first heard it, as it just completely threw me off guard. It was only about the third time that i actually read the name of the piece - Noeuds borromeens (Borrowmean Knots). Suddenly it's historic name took on a whole new meaning and i was able to truly appreicate this piece of musically entwined knots all the more. How amazing the way that by understanding the name of the piece it can take on a whole new level of meaning and enjoyment. For those who like myself adore the more familar solo pieces of Elinor, this piece is a refreshing reminder of what is most enchanting about Elinor, in that she brings alive the cello in so many ways, styles, combinations and variances that when you are listening to her, i mean really listening to her, it is an education to us all. Its always so much more than what you hear, cello to Elinor is so much more than an instrument and her passion, it is a story, a tapestry of history, culture and life and she is both the master and student of them all.

Thank you for this comment, really means a lot to me. Yes, my goal is to always be learning and then sharing that with others. This piece by Maxime McKinley is fascinating! We are recording it soon. Look for it on the Analekta label in late-2022! :)

Wow, that does really weird things to the feeling of the passage of time.
