I’m a cash buyer, ready to buy a performance EV. The GM of the local dealer said no, I couldn’t drive it. Left and headed to Tesla.

It’s called waiting list. In Australia it’s currently 2 years to get a GT, not surprised GM didn’t let you drive it.

@@peterc4509 it’s sitting on the showroom floor with price tag. Does he expect someone to buy it without driving it? I am a qualified cash buyer, not just a joyrider. A quick check of credit, etc, could have shown this. Anyway, wife didn’t like the looks so ordered a 3 Performance yesterday.

@@v35james78 it’s probably their demo model and if they sell it they won’t have another to show. I believe they are allowed to let people with confirmed deliveries to test drive. The rarity of them makes them also very appealing. I have bought many cars without test drive, especially in this chip shortage times. I bought a Ford Ranger Raptor without a test drive. Few decades ago a bought a Subaru WRX on reputation as there was no stock to test drive. KIA is letting me test drive the GT when they get their demo next month as mine arrives the month after. 2 year wait in most countries I think as I just heard Canada now has 2 year wait.
