Honestly, this is by far the best tutorial for carousels. Everyone else is trying to create custom art boards, use measurement guidelines, and splice things up. That is so overly complicated compared to this!
Thank you, Thank you!!! Holy cow -- I've been around the block on this one! I know the effort it takes in creating these videos and appreciate all you do! Best of luck and much continued success to you, Matthew!
I'm pleased the video was of help to you. I'm sure now that you understand the process, you can see how straightforward it actually is and that there are even several ways to do a Pano split :)
It really is! it's also surprising to hear how many "professionals" actually use it in preference to software like Photoshop. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me :)
so.. thanks a lot for this tutorial that's pretty simple. but a maybe dumb question. how do you know the dimension you'll need and how many slides you need to create for your image? thanks !
For example, an Instagram carousel: each image is 1080 pixels wide. You will therefore make your original image canvas a multiple of 1080. So, If you wish to split the image into 3 then the width of the original image should be 3240
Yes for some scenarios there is... this 3 way split could have been done by getting the dimensions of the original Pano, dividing by 3 and making that the width of your Blank Canvas. For the first split drag image to top left as per usual then expand image to fill canvas. Duplicate this page. Double click on the duplicate to select/highlight the full image, then drag this to center it. That creates split 2. Duplicate again for image 3. Double click to select/highlight full image and then drag it all the way left to create 3rd split.
the dimension of your spit is either determined by the size of your original image or the size you want your split images to be... for example: if you were wanting to create a 3-split Instagram carousel post for your grid, then ideally your original image should be 3240 (1080x3) You would then create a Canvas on Canva 1080x1350 This would then allow you to perfectly split the original image (3240x1350) into 3 or... if for example, you had a 16:9 (1920x1080) original image, and wished to split into 3 you would need a Canva canvas 640 wide hope that helps :)
Couldn't you have just "center justified" the photo for the 2nd image then "right justify" the 3rd as well? (Instead of starting with it on the left and cropping and sliding?)
Yes you can. It's fiddly but definitely possible. Just did it to test the theory I assume your intended use is for an Instragram 9 tile grid post? I started to describe the process here but its not easy. Leave it with me and i'll do a video on it asap
Didn't help. Trying to remember the app I used before to split. Am in Canva. Unless you're starting from scratch this doesn't help. But it's very good for that!
I use Canva all the time and this is so much better than downloading a separate app to split it.
Thank you for the tutorial!
You're very welcome. I'm glad you found the video useful :)

@@matthewmakingmemories Should have been a no-brainer. I sat and started at my Canva for like 15 minutes trying to figure it out! Lol...
best tutorial out there cheers mate much appreciated !!!
I’m glad you found it helpful 👍🏼
Thanks much! I keep finding myself surprised by how powerful Canva is!

I was going insane trying to do the split in Lightroom or Photoshop 😅this was so easy and worked perfectly, thank you!!!
You're very welcome. I'm glad it was helpful to you :)
Thank you so much! I have searched a bunch of tutorials but yours actually worked!!
You're welcome. There are actually a couple of ways of achieving the same outcome but at least this way encourages a repetitive process
It's so simple I thought it would be more complicated THANKS!
Glad it helped :)

You're very welcome. Glad it helped :)
This was so helpful, thank you!
I'm glad it was of some use :)
Thanks! Just tried this. Love how short the video is. I wonder if there’s a quicker way than having to always start over and drag to crop

wow, this is soooo helpful! Thank you!
Incredible tutorial ! Thank you so much 🤗

Um wow
thx for the great tutorial! can you please explain why you went for these dimensions?
the dimension of your spit is either determined by the size of your original image or the size you want your split images to be...
for example: if you were wanting to create a 3-split Instagram carousel post for your grid, then ideally your original image should be 3240 (1080x3)
You would then create a Canvas on Canva 1080x1350
This would then allow you to perfectly split the original image (3240x1350) into 3
or... if for example, you had a 16:9 (1920x1080) original image, and wished to split into 3 you would need a Canva canvas 640 wide
hope that helps :)
Thank you
Works perfectly! Thank you!!!!
You're welcome :)

Fantastic work. Very helpful tutorial 👏
Thanks dude! Method 2 coming soon. Stay tuned ☺️
Thank you

Can you do this with 9 tiles?
