Excellent, as usual! This is in line with what I've learned over the years as well; SWRD understood that a majority of Sri Lankans were unfairly disadvantaged because they didn't know English and wanted to fix that, but he had to make some nasty compromises in order to get there, teaching us that the end doesn't justify the means! I know HOW this story ends, but am looking forward to understanding the WHY a little better with the next installment!

Well compiled. Very good.
Actually SWRD was far from being a great leader. His policies were for his own benefit. He designed them in order to come to power. If not for him there would have been a good rival party to the UNP instead of the SLFP he created. Like the Republicans and the Democrats in USA and Labour and Conservatives in the UK. Together the two parties could have developed the Country. Instead, the UNP had to be busy rebuilding the Nation and clearing a mess each time they came to power.
