Blades will last longer if you just put an edge back on the length and don't attempt to return to factory angles. That edge will last a summer and you'll spend way less time of your life grinding and the amount of material needed to be removed to rebalance will be lessened. 1/8" out is fine. This isn't an attempt to send Glenn into orbit. It's grass clipping. My 3HP B&S is now 40 years old and still has the original blade, mulches great and does front and back on one tank of gas.
Been trying to bend mine back into shape. No go. My solution? Order a new one. 8-14 days to arrive. Gonna have a whole lotta weeds to cut. I swapped sides for three hours.
The blades you are sharpening are really worn out. Get a new set for safety. Bending blades is a bad idea fella. With vibration the bend will go back to where it was originally. Peace
Cool 😎. I've used a vice and a giant 4 foot pipe rinch before. And my press works to.

I have OCD tendencies and have defined perfection by the amount of my life I spent on the job, not the exactness of the edge shape.
Lol...Glenn into orbit. It's just the perfectionist in me I guess.
I have the same grinder, great vid

Walmart 20 I inch blace
Upto 20 inch blade, 1/4 inch offset is OK and over 21 inch, 3/8 inch is OK ( according to the manual).
No one recommends re-straightening....
Why no heat is applied to bend the metal baffles me. Without heat you create more stress and cracks in the metal than needed.
Heat will anneal the blade. Unless you have facilities and skill to heat, quench, then temper the entire blade, best not mess with heat.
@@lanedexter6303 , thnx for correcting me. Did some research and learned that heating a lawnmower blade partially is a bad idea.
