Your kitchen is clean and your nails are not long and painted harboring a host of germs and touching food. I particularly like that there is no loud music in the background assaulting my delicate sensibilities as I watch you crafting. Thank you for creating content that stands out. Good job, girl!

This is perfect just the way I learned when I was in Nigeria! And very Delicious. Is there another name for honey beans. I was taught with black eyed beans.
The peas that you used, in the Bahamas it is called Black Eye Peas, always hearing about this Akara when watching African movies, especially Mrs. Mercy Johnson movies lol. I will try making Akara looks good. From Freeport, Grand Bahama, The Bahamas. Thanks for sharing....
@@Veeluvstocook oh it comes out real good I couldn't snap as we are busy eating it. But I got it right this time baby was like this is the best I have tasted ever.
Looks so good, love your channel. Can you use any type of beans for akara? also, do you ever leave the batter to ferment before you whip it? or is that a different recipe
Thanks much. Well not any type of beans can be used for traditional Nigerian akara. The most commonly used ones are honey beans, brown beans, black eye peas. No I do not leave the batter to ferment cos it will become rancid(sour). I only soak the dry beans in salted water to get it hydrated and soften to ease blending and reduce the work on the blender machine. I hope all this answers your question. Kindly remember to share my videos, subscribe and turn on your notification bell beside the subscribe button. Let me know if you need more help. I try to answer questions within 24hrs. Happy frying. Just tried this recipe and followed it to perfectly and I am blown away. My akara was delicious and on point!!!!! Thank you for this. My only modification was that I used split red lentils instead of beans cos beans is too much work for me 😣
Tasted for the 1st time yesterday at International Food dishes for Black History month. It was the best. We learned that the Akara is blacked peas so every time someone asked what the dish was , they were told blackeyed peas, they were amazed and just had to try it. Pleasantly surprised!
i will recommend added it before beating air into it or during blending the beans. You do not want to add it after incorporating the air so that you do not risk deflating the air already added... Whisking will require you to do a lot of arm exercise to achieve the fluffiness the mixer will give.
Veeluvstocook_ I tried your method a few days ago and it was superb👍 Although I used a whisk and not a mixer , it still came out well. The idea of incorporating air into the mixture really made it fluffy on the inside. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Delicious.
All smiles.. you can use black eye peas for it too but i used honey beand in mine😊..you definitely give akara and find out what the rave is about😊
So some people everything they gonna Dislike . I will said you done ✅ a great 👍

@@Veeluvstocook all thanks to you dear. You are doing a great job out there and we appreciate you please keep it up.

@@Veeluvstocook thanks for the reply! I will try it out and let you know :)
Just tried this recipe and followed it to perfectly and I am blown away. My akara was delicious and on point!!!!! Thank you for this. My only modification was that I used split red lentils instead of beans cos beans is too much work for me 😣
I am glad it turned out well. 😊
Thank you for sharing. I was thinking split red lentils would work because removing the skins is tedious.
It best with agege bread and my friend call it African burger
Yes oooo @African burger.
Thanks a lot for the teaching dear am from Uganda but i chop naija so i have learnt a lot ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I am so glad I was of help Kiki
It looks so good in the eye. How can I prepare and fry my akara to soak less oil
The tips shared in the video should help
Tasted for the 1st time yesterday at International Food dishes for Black History month. It was the best. We learned that the Akara is blacked peas so every time someone asked what the dish was , they were told blackeyed peas, they were amazed and just had to try it. Pleasantly surprised!
Welcome to Africa
Wow! I just tried this recipe and it came out very very well. Before you know it the bowl is empty. Thank you so much.
Yipee... high five my fellow akara maker😁😉😉
Will try this tomorrow, thanks for sharing
well done sis.l will definitely try this method.Jesus is coming again.pls lets prepare to meet our maker.God bless u
Thanks. God bless you too
Hiiii! Is it advisable to add salt and maggi to the batter before frying? Also can you just whisk it you don’t have a mixer?
i will recommend added it before beating air into it or during blending the beans.

Hi
I am in the US as well. Go to African grocery store. You can also use either black eye beans or brown beans as well.
You can get the beans at Wal-Mart or foodforless store only the black eye peas but the brown beans is at African store
You can get it at a Restaurant Depot too lol.
