I know this is hardly scientific as they're all different GPUs with different TDPs, but I still find it interesting to see the temps and fan-RPM on those different coolers, all from the same manufacturer. I've used a 4070 and now a 4070 Super, both from Gigabyte and both of the "Gaming OC"-variety and while my Super runs a tiny bit warmer than my 4070 did, the Gaming-cooler seems to be pretty overbuilt for either of these two. Pretty sure the 4070S uses the same cooler as my (rev. 1) 4070 did. I think it's clear to see in this match-up that both the Windforce and the Eagle are "struggling" a bit more with temps (huge quotation marks around 'struggling' :D ). They always seem to run warmer and their fan RPM are always quite a bit higher than on the Aorus and Gaming cards. Plus the Aorus Master does seem to have the best/most overbuilt cooler of the four indeed. Not that it should really matter seeing how all four run at perfectly acceptable temperatures, but the larger cooling-solutions should give you a little more headroom, especially since you can crank up the power-limit quite a bit on the Gaming (and on the Master too, I would imagine). I've managed to manually OC the 4070 to just over 3000 MHz and the Super to just below 3000 (not sure if it's my sample or if the 4070 S is generally slightly worse to OC).

All cards work at same clock speeds but the 4070TI, the clean 4070 is at lower RPM and lower W and lower temp except the TI version... where does the 20-30% diff in frames come from !? That is a bit impossible... if every metric is the same and the temp is lower at even lower fan rpm.... why the 40 70 does not get the same FPS?!?!?!
Wow, I thought the difference between the 4070 Super and the 4070 Ti would be bigger. But actually they are pretty close! So I guess I'll stick with the 4070 Super! Makes sense since I currently have a 2070 super. (Guess I'll continue in the xx70 Super family...)
Hmmm. I'm surprised to see the 4070 Ti is very efficient in power consumption but what separates it from the others is its very low thermals. It is even lower than 4070 Super and 4070 base models and the fan speed is low as well because it doesn't heat up much. Or since Aorus is the higher-end Gigabyte, the thermal control tech is just better.

i would keep the 4070 and wait till 5000 series or even 6000. dont think its worth it right now
@Diogo_Bento thanks for the response buddy I really appreciate it I will keep the 4070 until I can save up more money in the future
When trying. You close case or open case?
Am I blind or something or the results are kinda strange... so ...
(Guess I'll continue in the xx70 Super family...)
this might be silly to ask but how different would the performance be by fps withvthe cpu was a 7 7500x
Perfect, just what i needed!
According to this video. Noted only escape from tarkov which needs more than 16GB vram. Anyone can test the maximum limit for this game? If 16gb not enough then only 4090 class or amd with at least 24gb vram.
Should i buy 4070ti instead of 4070 super for 30 bucks more?
YES. 10% more Performance
yeah its worth it
yes
Is a 4070 ti a good pairing with the intel i9 1400k?
I'm looking at building first pc but am struggling 😭
@@golfboy7438 buy ryzen 7800x3d it's the best cpu
Damn... I was planning to buy myself a 4070 but looking at the FPS for Black Myth Wukong or Alan Wake 2 really gives me fear about upcoming games. I don't wanna upgrade in the next few years but it looks like this could be a challenge?
I suggest go to atleast 4070 super atleast you get this tasty 20% more frame (most of the game)
@@smileythecursedog1329 Yeah the super is around 30€ more here in Germany so that would be okay I guess. But these 12 GB of VRAM are also something I'm worried about. For now they might still be okay because nvidia handles the VRAM usage differently compared to AMD but I don't know how future games will look like... On the other hand... A 16 GB VRAM card from nvidia is way too expensive for me. 😕
I mean 2k 70fbs to good what u need 300fbs? and don't buy 4070super fan rpm to much high buy 4070 or ti
@@kamalmohammed3439 4070 TI Super is at around 800€ in my country. 4070 (without super) at around 550€. So no the TI version is way above my budget.
You have something wrong with your tests. I have 13700k with 4070ti and I have played more than 200 hours horizon, 4k with very high settings, I have FPS 90-120
Dlss enabled?
@@JegsTVyes
@marwankahachi5575 i dont use dlss on horizon. Settings used are shown at the start
Why don"t use DLSS and framegen?
Super is the best fps per $ but is it future proof with only 12 GB Vram?
Not much in the Ti versions for all the extra money. I'd save up for a full 4080S if a 4070S isn't enough performance.
It would be better using the same class of card, gigabyte provide different classes (windforce, eagle, aero, gaming, master )for 4070, super ....etc
Would be nice to include raytracing in those test with dlss quality. Those are big reasons to go with Nvidia after all

Hello, i paired rtx 4070 S with ryzen 5800x3d and its awesome. I dont need more....for now.
Interestingly the 4070 Ti is by far the coolest running, yet they are all Gigabyte 3 fans versions. Care to explain why?
The 4070ti is gigabyte’s high end model, aorus master. Thicker heatsinks and better cooling.
We need two more 4070 models to fill the $150 gap.
they actually releasing them soon, those will be ddr6 (non X)
I don’t think they make 4070 ti anymore I can’t find one on the market
please do first descendant. i'm planning to upgrade to 4070 to play the first descendant
it is worth too upgrade my 1060 for a 4070ti super or not ?
yes, if you can afford it, otherwise a 4070 would be great.
In any case the change is going to be incredible.
Just make sure your processor doesn't limit you.
if you have the means. then yes. huge upgrade right there
@@mathieueurin2149 i hesitate between ryzen 7 700x or the r7 7 700x3d ( taking into account i want to stream )

RTX 4070 Ti Super a.k.a RTX 4080 12GB.. what a joke. They definetly did something 5000 series too.
How I wish the 4070 ti had 16 gigs of VRAM.... it would have become an instant buy for so many. In my country it costs roughly the same as the 4070 Super now, so its an excellent deal, but the 12 gig VRAM buffer is what worries me and the fact that you have to get a minimum of a 1000 USD card (its what the Ti Super costs here) to get 16 gigs of VRAM is just shitty from Nvidia.
The cheaptest model for the normal 4070 is 539€ here in Germany while the cheapest model for the 4070 Super is 567,35€...The cheapest 4070 TI Super models starting at around 800€ sadly which is way too much money for me personally. @@makunouchiippo816 yeah I know, right? There are few used marketplaces here where you can get the 4070 vanilla for much cheaper, but just like you, I don't think it will last all that long. It's just sad.

@@lilcurls8916 i guess i figured out what was going on. I was trying on pve servers. On online servers is way better. Medium fps just on streets, on all other maps i have more than 120 fps at 1440p now and almost everything on high.
And somehow my gpu scheduling was turned off. I turned on and it got better.
We all know, once 5000 hits the market, many of these multiplayer games will nerf current GPU and make them perform worse then they have been so far, just to push people to buy new and better GPUs
