I don't think yall realize how difficult this is for anyone to pull off. It's an hour-long speedrun, filled with extremely precise and skillful movement. This kind of stuff takes months to get down, maybe even years. They need to memorize every single glitch, movement trick, what jumps are possible, and what aren't. It's truly impressive.
there's a video of this game compiled of multiple players ranging from both solos and co-op players that submitted their best times on different parts and it all rounds up to 55 minutes. I recommend you watch it cause it's pretty cool cause some co-op players in the video play with both hands and feet meaning that they control mario with their hands and cappy with their feet. It's really cool and shows just how dedicated the community is to take the game to it's limit

Best Mario game of all time has to be SMG2. Overall it was absolutely perfect. 64 was the foundation, Galaxy brought the idea but Galaxy 2 perfected it. Odyssey is definitely the most beautiful but overall gameplay to me is SMG2

The insane level of skill and mastery required to run through this game with incredible movement stringing together ridiculous tricks and moves without mistakes, frame perfect movement one after another to achieve a world record in a highly optimized game is so impressive. The memorization of the exact key inputs in every single part of the game. He destroyed this game and made the boss fights look like a breeze. Such a skill based movement based speedrun. I loved his reaction at the end, over 22000 attempts culminated into one moment of outstanding achievement. Sad it was beat by two seconds but still big ups to this speedrunner for his skill and dedication
I’d just like to mention my favorite skip in sand kingdom. When he gets the moon from the seed usually you have to wait for it to grow but for the run they set up their switch so that right when they get to that part that day light savings goes ahead an hour so the game thinks it’s been an hour and the moon is there

Ngl I genuinely think odyssey is the goat of Mario games. Maybe cause I didn’t grow up with 64, but something about odyssey is so new yet comforting and nostalgic.

I've ran this game and I have a 1:01 and I can tell you how hard of an accomplishment this is, I'm here struggling trying to beat the game under an hour
Eight hours cuz there are 880 moons in the game then u need to buy another 120 to get 999 and get the fireworks and cap on top of the mushroom kingdom. As someone who has done this it does take a very long time
