I find this Bible verse so confusing. To express joy, you need a pleasant surprise. God knows everything that will happen in the future, so he is never surprised. It seems illogical that God would have this human emotion that shows his knowledge is limited.
@@markb3786I would argue that future is not linear and with only one outcome. I think God knows every possible future that one might have, depending on the actions we take. Therefore, when one DECIDES to come to him is a "good future", thus joyful.
@@markb3786the best way I can see it is when you recall the verse that says something like God is the potter and we are the clay. How can we the clay even be able to scratch the surface of understanding God’s nature as we are now. We can only judge God by our standards. So if you are a Christian just pray for the Holy Spirit to help you with your faith and walk with God. I really hope this helps

Beautiful testimony. God put me into a severe mental illness after using meth and I had nobody because everyone judged me. Then after 3 years I found him started praying, learning and practicing and he brought me out of the mental illness much smarter and stronger than I was before I went into it. God is truly amazing especially the abundance of patience, forgiveness and love that he gives us. I shared this video because it’s very inspiring

What it was for me is when I was 18 in 1978 I watched the movie Jesus of Nazareth on TV. I was an ashiest, but it dawned on me "what if it is true?". That night I said a prayer that if it were true I would do whatever it took to get to Heaven. It didn't happen immediately for me, over the following year my life fell apart, and I hit rock bottom. I began to seek more diligently on my own, and I found God, and my life was changed.
As someone who stopped drinking, you soon realize that those people who you thought were your friends are not your friends. They are just people who are into the same drugs.
I tried to offer an old drinking friend a lucrative employment opportunity but he was offended by me telling him I don't drink anymore, he said no thanks. I asked him why his employer laid him off, he said guy D policies were anti his industry (fuel burning generators). So I said don't blame me I voted for guy R. He said have a nice life or whatever.
I was a teenager when I grew up and watched you in high school. I’m so thankful you are an influencer that has walked back to the cross! Inspires me to never give up on the creator and to stop worshipping creation!❤️

My heart leapt when I heard you say that it takes more faith to believe in nothing! I’ve been saying for YEARS that it takes more faith to be an atheist than it does to be a Christian. But I never have heard anyone else say this until you just said it in this video! Amen, Sister!!

If I may just explain why you're wrong. They call it Faith, the reason is you believe because of a spiritual conviction rather than any factual information or proof. I don't believe in Christianity because there's nothing that can prove the existence of God. I don't need faith & neither does anyone else who is an Atheist. The first lines of Genesis say "In the beginning God created Heaven & the Earth" it goes on "God said let there be light" We know from Science that the Earth formed much later than the Sun. So the light was already there before the Earth was formed, so straight away the Bible is wrong. We don't need faith to take on-board scientific fact. We are simply honest in our World View as are our families, the Women in our family haven't felt shame like the lady describes because they've never indulged in such pastimes. There's nothing wrong with secular society & you can live a respectable honest life without Christianity.

I'm more of an Agnostic Theist. Want to believe but dont know which is the one, and really need the proof. So I think it takes more faith to not ascribe to any singular deity without knowing the facts, false gods and idols and whatnot. Why risk ticking off the One? Everyone can say their God is the Almighty, but 7 billion people can't be right, if there even is The One. Anyone can denote things they prayed for coming true but I liken that to a near Karmic event. What you put out into the world comes back, manifesting scenarios and outcomes. Even though morality is a human construct of what we deem right or wrong, I still try to be the best person I can be. Help others when and where I can. Be nice to folks. Hoping one day to find answers. There's so many things in the world we've figured out and understood that were unknowns for so long. It's just a matter of time I guess. Science can't disprove religion, but religion can't disprove science either. If only those groups overlapped more and could research together to get to the bottom. But finding out the truth for one group wouldn't affect them them much either way, if at all. The other group could be devastated in that 50/50 toss up. So as it stands, I would love to believe in something higher than ourselves, but at the moment all I think religion is - was a concept of control (mind control). Try to get people to believe that if they did bad things in life, death would be the least of their concerns. So they start behaving. Then they're told that the reason things are good are because of God and their beliefs. Until things get bad, then you have to fight a war over your beliefs or at the least, in the name of it. There's been more killings in the name of religion than anything else. But to the victor goes the spoils. The people pulling the (heart) strings. So just looking at history, is there any real reason to blindly jump into what some would consider a cult without knowing for sure whether the koolaid you get is laced with something stronger than sugar? I think not. Not bashing anyone or their ideals, that's just where I'm at.
I think a lot of young girls need this message today. God strengthens us and grows us in our trials for sure. He has a purpose for them and I have felt the same peace once turning to him again. He is the only place to find true satisfaction in this life. So happy for you!

No one comes to the Father except through me. Acts 4:12 12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Jesus was the final sacrifice for those sins. His perfect life gave the only blood that could cover our sin and the punishment you and I deserve. I pray you don't have to find this out the hard way.

I hit rock bottom 20 years ago. I lost everything and everyone. The Lord tapped me on my shoulder and said I've always been here for you, climb on my shoulders. I did, and everything and everyone I lost was resurrected in my life. I give thanks to Jesus every single day of my life, no matter how small the blessing. My journey back has been a miracle and a gift from God. Praise Jesus and blessings to you, Taylor.

I almost pasted you by but something made me stop and watch you . I am a combat vet ( Vietnam ) When I came home I was not the same as the 18 year old kid who went there. I wanted excitement so I bought a motorcycle then started hanging with outlaw type bikers. I got mean and hurt a lot of people that didn't deserve it. I stabbed eight people in fights that I can remember. I survived an assassination attempt and at that point I knew I was at the bottom. I turned my life over to God and have made a complete change for him. You are an inspiration to me. This is my first time here with you but not my last. Thank you for this and God bless you.

Before I changed to Christ I was a thief, liar, and an alcoholic, I was a mess. I stole thousands of dollars worth of things and drank with my friends. It all changed when I went to Spain with my sister. We went to Valencia, where there is a cathedral that holds the holy grail. I split some money there so I could buy more alcohol and drugs. I bought a figure of Archangel Michael that I still have to split said money. Walking out I saw a shiny silver and gold box that grabbed my attention. I stood there for nearly 5 minutes just looking at it. At that point, I had never felt that much inner peace and holiness. I didn't even know I was looking at the holy until after returned I got back. Currently, I'm working on trying to be a better Christian, I haven't been baptized yet just because I haven't forgiven myself for things I've done. I am currently working on it, God exists and he loves us all, put all your faith in him and you can change.

In my walk with Jesus, I think of something similar to what you said. I think of my walk as a marathon, not a sprint. The reason I think of it that way is because, when I first found Jesus, I became a sponge. I was soaking in as much of the word as possible (in my own way). I got to a point in a months time that I had people who were long time believers telling me they thought I knew more than them. I was sprinting during that time. I quit smoking, quit cussing, and quit doing many other things in a matter of days. I felt like I couldn't move fast enough, I had to give up my old ways right now. But the problem with sprinting is that, while you may be going faster, you also get tired faster. I took in so much, so fast, and also quit so many things, so fast, that I backslid into a couple of my old ways after like 3 months. I'm still struggling to this day. But the difference these days is that I know it's a marathon and not a sprint. I know I have to slow down and take it all in at a pace that doesn't tire me out. I know that some things take time and don't just happen (or stop happening) overnight or when we want them to. Everything happens on Gods time, not on ours. And sometimes He uses our bad ways to teach us something good though them. Sometimes we can't see what those teachings are right away, and sometimes we can. It's all about having discernment and knowing the difference between your own thoughts versus what God may be telling you. A good way to know is that Jesus is Truth. He never lies. So if any thought in your head instills doubt into you or leads to a lie, you know it is your own thoughts or an evil spirit, and not Jesus, because our flesh is evil and we're constantly under evil spiritual attack.

This kind of reminds me of my favorite movie. Sargent York. (Very Old movie with Gary Cooper) He was a hell raiser. Drinking, causing trouble and all that stuff. Then he found God. He was going to church and really getting to know The Lord. He still had trails but was able to handle them. It showed me God is a forgiving God. Taught me I don't need glam or fame to be happy. Just to walk with Jesus is all that is needed to be happy.

I find this Bible verse so confusing. To express joy, you need a pleasant surprise. God knows everything that will happen in the future, so he is never surprised. It seems illogical that God would have this human emotion that shows his knowledge is limited.
@@markb3786I would argue that future is not linear and with only one outcome. I think God knows every possible future that one might have, depending on the actions we take. Therefore, when one DECIDES to come to him is a "good future", thus joyful.

How can we the clay even be able to scratch the surface of understanding God’s nature as we are now. We can only judge God by our standards. Beautiful testimony. God put me into a severe mental illness after using meth and I had nobody because everyone judged me. Then after 3 years I found him started praying, learning and practicing and he brought me out of the mental illness much smarter and stronger than I was before I went into it. What it was for me is when I was 18 in 1978 I watched the movie Jesus of Nazareth on TV. I was an ashiest, but it dawned on me "what if it is true?". That night I said a prayer that if it were true I would do whatever it took to get to Heaven. It didn't happen immediately for me, over the following year my life fell apart, and I hit rock bottom. I began to seek more diligently on my own, and I found God, and my life was changed.
This is amazing, it looks like you got humbled so you could receive God! Maybe the positive aspects didn’t happen immediately but your cross did

I asked him why his employer laid him off, he said guy D policies were anti his industry (fuel burning generators). So I said don't blame me I voted for guy R. He said have a nice life or whatever.

If I may just explain why you're wrong. They call it Faith, the reason is you believe because of a spiritual conviction rather than any factual information or proof. I don't believe in Christianity because there's nothing that can prove the existence of God. I don't need faith & neither does anyone else who is an Atheist. The first lines of Genesis say "In the beginning God created Heaven & the Earth" it goes on "God said let there be light" We know from Science that the Earth formed much later than the Sun. So the light was already there before the Earth was formed, so straight away the Bible is wrong. We don't need faith to take on-board scientific fact. We are simply honest in our World View as are our families, the Women in our family haven't felt shame like the lady describes because they've never indulged in such pastimes. There's nothing wrong with secular society & you can live a respectable honest life without Christianity.

I'm more of an Agnostic Theist. Want to believe but dont know which is the one, and really need the proof. So I think it takes more faith to not ascribe to any singular deity without knowing the facts, false gods and idols and whatnot. Why risk ticking off the One? Everyone can say their God is the Almighty, but 7 billion people can't be right, if there even is The One. Anyone can denote things they prayed for coming true but I liken that to a near Karmic event. What you put out into the world comes back, manifesting scenarios and outcomes.
Even though morality is a human construct of what we deem right or wrong, I still try to be the best person I can be. Help others when and where I can. Be nice to folks. Hoping one day to find answers.
There's so many things in the world we've figured out and understood that were unknowns for so long. It's just a matter of time I guess.
Science can't disprove religion, but religion can't disprove science either. If only those groups overlapped more and could research together to get to the bottom. But finding out the truth for one group wouldn't affect them them much either way, if at all. The other group could be devastated in that 50/50 toss up.
So as it stands, I would love to believe in something higher than ourselves, but at the moment all I think religion is - was a concept of control (mind control). Try to get people to believe that if they did bad things in life, death would be the least of their concerns. So they start behaving. Then they're told that the reason things are good are because of God and their beliefs. Until things get bad, then you have to fight a war over your beliefs or at the least, in the name of it. There's been more killings in the name of religion than anything else. But to the victor goes the spoils. The people pulling the (heart) strings. So just looking at history, is there any real reason to blindly jump into what some would consider a cult without knowing for sure whether the koolaid you get is laced with something stronger than sugar? I think not.
Not bashing anyone or their ideals, that's just where I'm at.
I think a lot of young girls need this message today. God strengthens us and grows us in our trials for sure. He has a purpose for them and I have felt the same peace once turning to him again. He is the only place to find true satisfaction in this life. So happy for you!

I hit rock bottom 20 years ago. I lost everything and everyone. The Lord tapped me on my shoulder and said I've always been here for you, climb on my shoulders. I did, and everything and everyone I lost was resurrected in my life. I give thanks to Jesus every single day of my life, no matter how small the blessing. I almost pasted you by but something made me stop and watch you . I am a combat vet ( Vietnam ) When I came home I was not the same as the 18 year old kid who went there.
I wanted excitement so I bought a motorcycle then started hanging with outlaw type bikers. I got mean and hurt a lot of people that didn't deserve it. I stabbed eight people in fights that I can remember. I survived an assassination attempt and at that point I knew I was at the bottom. Before I changed to Christ I was a thief, liar, and an alcoholic, I was a mess. I stole thousands of dollars worth of things and drank with my friends. It all changed when I went to Spain with my sister. We went to Valencia, where there is a cathedral that holds the holy grail. I split some money there so I could buy more alcohol and drugs. I bought a figure of Archangel Michael that I still have to split said money. Walking out I saw a shiny silver and gold box that grabbed my attention. I stood there for nearly 5 minutes just looking at it. At that point, I had never felt that much inner peace and holiness. I didn't even know I was looking at the holy until after returned I got back. Currently, I'm working on trying to be a better Christian, I haven't been baptized yet just because I haven't forgiven myself for things I've done. I am currently working on it, God exists and he loves us all, put all your faith in him and you can change.

In my walk with Jesus, I think of something similar to what you said. I think of my walk as a marathon, not a sprint. The reason I think of it that way is because, when I first found Jesus, I became a sponge. I was soaking in as much of the word as possible (in my own way). I got to a point in a months time that I had people who were long time believers telling me they thought I knew more than them. I was sprinting during that time. I quit smoking, quit cussing, and quit doing many other things in a matter of days. I felt like I couldn't move fast enough, I had to give up my old ways right now.
But the problem with sprinting is that, while you may be going faster, you also get tired faster. I took in so much, so fast, and also quit so many things, so fast, that I backslid into a couple of my old ways after like 3 months. I'm still struggling to this day. But the difference these days is that I know it's a marathon and not a sprint. I know I have to slow down and take it all in at a pace that doesn't tire me out. I know that some things take time and don't just happen (or stop happening) overnight or when we want them to.
Everything happens on Gods time, not on ours. And sometimes He uses our bad ways to teach us something good though them. Sometimes we can't see what those teachings are right away, and sometimes we can. It's all about having discernment and knowing the difference between your own thoughts versus what God may be telling you. A good way to know is that Jesus is Truth. He never lies. So if any thought in your head instills doubt into you or leads to a lie, you know it is your own thoughts or an evil spirit, and not Jesus, because our flesh is evil and we're constantly under evil spiritual attack.

This kind of reminds me of my favorite movie. Sargent York. (Very Old movie with Gary Cooper) He was a hell raiser. Drinking, causing trouble and all that stuff. Then he found God. He was going to church and really getting to know The Lord. He still had trails but was able to handle them. It showed me God is a forgiving God. Taught me I don't need glam or fame to be happy. Just to walk with Jesus is all that is needed to be happy.
