The reason the US make more money out of tourism is when you are in the US there is only the US to visit and you're gonna stay like 3 weeks. When you are in France, you're gonna stay 4 days, then go to Italy 3 days, then UK 4 days, etc etc So France may be the most visited country on earth but tourists tend to spend less money there than in the US.
