    And here comes the student of maestro Friedrich Guida from Vienna , maestro Martha Argerich teaching the orchestra and its conductor the score while working out the important voices the orchestra avoided to work out during the introduction of the first sentence. Beautiful! Martha, I always loved you and I will also love you until the day when I might have passed on. And if there might be a heaven, I'm gonna listen to you and Gulda for eternity as long as we talk about music, Mozart and arts!

    Nothing makes starting to do one's taxes easier to bear than this.
    In the midst of all that Mozartean perfection that was the hallmark of his life, this concerto, along with #23 in A, remain to me the "most perfect."
    I swear, given the number of composers who died in their 30's or early 40's, if I get to the afterlife and find that they haven't been composing music for the past couple of centuries, I'm a-gonna be hopping mad at the Almighty! He'll have a lot of 'splaining to do!

    • @rofo2107
      @rofo2107 2 года назад +6

      As for as rubatos.
      I think once artists reach similar level of music geniality as Martha Argerich, they tend never repeat the same interpretation twice.
      Maybe Japan orchestra was way too much controlled and precise in the begining... and it needed something to ballance it or put in contrast with. Martha Argerich probably improvised, I'm sure it was not calculated or agreed on rehearsal in advance.
      She started 1st movement quite slower tempo, listened to piano long notes a bit longer then usual, she probably looked for the recepy and inspiration for the sound. I think she was not absolutely happy looking at her body language.
      Then 2nd movement(Romanza) with elegant and marvelous rubatos came as an answer from a completely different planet. I think from the second movement the orchestra started to breath with Martha. It took them quite longer:)
      Once Martha grabbed them, she hold them firmly till the end.

    Ce jour là , Martha Argerich avait renoncé à interpréter l'Empereur, préférant jouer le concerto N°20, K.466 de Mozart. Heureusement ,pour le Beethovenien inconditionnel que je suis, il y a la Cadenza, qui peut nous laisser deviner ce qu'aurait donné le cinquième Concerto sous ses doigts. Peut-être un jour je trouverai un enregistrement qui pourra entrer dans ma collection. Jeanjean du Château

    Mozart was a classical composer. He lived in this era. One may interpret him differently. This one was different. The tempo was like a horse race. no need to be that fast. it actually causes some of the phrases to be lost. And the touch of romanticism (rubato? and more) was exaggeratede.
    and yet, electrifying performance. great pianist and the sound of the orchestra was good
