I have come to the conclusion that Russia must liberate all of Ukraine. Not a single square cm should remain. Then, Russia can negotiate with Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania to return the lands that were taken by Ukraine in exchange for full peace, and a free trade agreement.
