For anyone who's interested in the calories: Per portion (from 9 portions total): 232kcal, 14,5g carbs, 11,8g fats, 11,5g protein Keep in mind I calculated the bars with only 50g of chocolate on top... If you're using more, more calories and more fat
I used almond butter instead and it tastes AMAZING!! Also, I made my calculs and with a vanilla whey protein (30g prots per scoop) and non vegan semi-sweet chocolate chips(about 1/2 cup) it’s about: 300-315g cals 16-20g prots 50mg sodium 17g fat 12g sugar Per bar, for 9 bars, to make you an idea😊
That's a bad protein bar when it only has 16-20g protein and 300 calories. Its should have more like 27-30g of protein or higher to be considered a protein bar . 10 grams of protein per 100 calories is considered a good protein bar. This is more like a candy bar.
Hi Maddie! I just wanted to say that every time I feel upset or sad I watch your videos and I immediately feel better. Thank you for making me smile and forget about the bad stuff. I am so happy that I found your channel..thank you for everything xx
I’m vegan and I have never enjoyed protein bars! It just so happens that I’m going on a cross country trip in mammoth, and my mom and I have been searching for bars, and decided to buy a pack from Lassens to make our own. How coincidental is it that you just posted this!!! I AM SO HAPPY💓💓💓 we’re going to make these today... this is everything I’ve wanted in a protein bar 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Yayy finally a healthy vegan proteinbar recipe. I have been looking for one sooo long because I don’t like the mealy texture of plant protein in my smoothies. But I don’t want to buy so many bars because of all the packaging so thank you for the recipe definitely going to try this ! 🤗 love your videos your vibes are so chilled 🥰
And if you don't have a microwave, you could also melt the chocolate chips on top of the protein square by placing in a warm regular oven until the chips get soft - easy to spread out over the square then. Love your recipe and thank you for sharing it!
I love how your channel encourages a healthy lifestyle🙌🌿I'm working on my weight loss and wellness journey on insta and RUclips; you inspire me to keep going!!🙌😘
OMG I did a similar version to your recipe and it's soooooo delicious. I could barely stop eating more than 1 bar/day lol. Thank you for sharing Madie! ♥️
This looks delicious! I tried my own recipe and....it didn't turn out so ood. The coconut butter is a good idea for making sure they're hardened properly. I looked up all the ingredients and calculated the approximate Calories and Protein (cause I'm a nerd). Calories per bar: 440 Protein per bar: 25
UPDATE: i made them with chocolate whey and hazelnut butter instead of peanut butter and they are delicious 🤤 . Has anyone tried this with chocolate whey? I don't have vanilla 😶
tried this recipe right after I watched (and liked) the video soooo good! You could brings them to a potluck and people would think there Nanaimo bars. Btw you are such a great influencer
Great video thanks 😁.... How big are the scoops please? Or how much protein powder in cup measurements do I need please? Also what could I replace the peanut butter for? XXX
Oooo YUM these look amazing!! Honestly Maddie you’ve helped me soo much becoming a happier, healthier and more environmentally friendly person. You’ve even helped me grow my own channel and I’m so close to 600 subs it’s unreal😱 can’t thank you enough and keep up the amazing work your ‘thriving’ right now hahaa xx
Let's show maddie how much we love her and please subscribe to her RUclips channel also a question for everyone : what's your favorite vegan based dessert at the moment
Lol Kyle popping up on the side with his big ol camera! 🤣 These sound amazing...🤤 one of these days I’ll try that protein powder! P.S. chocolate is never optional! 😍
Maddie - my teen daughter suggested this video and made these bars to give her the energy needed to get through a full day of dance. Taste was great, although my daughter thought ot was too "proteiny" so maybe we'll make it with only 1 scoop of protein and add vanilla extract next time. BUT my question is - does yours stick to your mouth like a big ball of peanut buttee? Ours did and i had put in less PB i think. Any suggestions? I am thinking maybe not blending the oats next time idk.
Hiya, for it to taste less protein-like. Use 99% whey milk protein that's unflavored and combine it with the normal vanilla one half and half, as they whey stuff tastes like nothing while keeping the protein. Also, I freeze them and then cut them up to later on less then soften up in the fridge.
this is a really cool video and recipe, may i ask the basic nutritional values of these bars please ( protein, sugar, carbs, mono unsaturated fats) i would appreciate it❤👍
Maddie- is 1 cup of oats for breakfast too much for weight loss? Or how much oats do you eat in the morning? I feel like 1/2 a cup I will be hungry at work by 10am... and lunch is at 12ish
So the dates and the maple syurp is what really helps hold the bars together? Cause i make regular granola bars w/ honey and they fall apart when at room temperature.
Looks yummy! I do use double boiler method. It does take more time yes, however it is the healthier option because the microwave destroys the nutrients in foods. P.S. I enjoy your food videos :)
Sunflower seed butter is always my go to for subbing peanut butter! And for the coconut butter you can leave that out and sub more sunflower seed butter ☺️

I guess you need protein powder because it's impossible to get adequate protein without supplements. Or because legumes cause gas. ??

Berkeley Glover try tahini instead of the peanut butter
Sunflower seed butter is really good

@@MaddieLymburner Thank you for the recommendation! I will definitely try it!! :)
In the case of the coconut it's technically or botanical not a nut but a drupe so you shouldn't have an allergy to it because of a nut allergy.

If you are allergic to nuts, what would you recommend as a peanut butter substitute? Thanks! 💗
