Sadly he pass way too young, but every time I hear this music I close my eyes and imagine him playing.❤️😙

Thank you, JPJ, you are a class act!
One of the real treats of RUclips for me, aside from the actual content, is reading comments and finding real gems that are worded so eloquently as yours is here, John. I couldn’t agree more with your sentiment.
To see Gilbert just play a couple of chords and listening to jpj playing a mandolin solo just tells you about what music is really about not like today’s rappers dissing one another. This is an excellent guitarist who chooses to stay in the dark not drawing attention to let a part of music history shine while he just sits there and enjoys himself
Rappers don't exactly put a lot of skill on display in the first place so riffing each other is all they have. They don't show vocal range, many of them have ghost writers, I mean it really makes sense. There isn't a lot for them to appreciate about each other. And I'm not riffing on rap here, this is just the truth of the matter.
This is why Zepp, was, is, and will forever be, the greatest band of all time. I can't think of another band, except Floyd, who's music as an instrumental can be equally has beautiful as the recorded version. I hope to live in a world one day when JPJ is no longer under-appreciated.

Excellent moving rendition of the song. Paul Gilbert did a great job of honoring the song. I must say that although I was never in to Racer X or Mr. Big, I have always found Paul Gilbert to be someone who just loves music insanely. If you watch him play, he is just as moved as B.B. Keep coming back to this. The way these guys are listening and watching each other. Great example of collective consciousness music. Of course two virtuosos.
John Paul Jones is more then just a great musician... it’s almost as if he IS music. Any musician in close proximity draws inspiration from him, and their own talent reflects off Jonesy and returns to them in a way that encourages more and more from within themselves. It must be an incredible feeling to be lucky enough to play with people like that. ...and when you have not one, but FOUR musical masters of that caliber come together... you get the might Led Zeppelin!!!
