    ****UPDATE ****
    I TOOK MY CAR TO CHEVY AND THEY CHARGED ME $120-$150 (DON'T REMEMBER THE EXACT AMOUNT) TO TELL ME THEY NEEDED THE OLD RADIO BACK IN MY CAR BECAUSE MY VIN NUMBER IS ATTACHED TO IT. I FOUND ANOTHER PERSON WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND THEY ADVISED ME THEY WAS ABLE TO GET A REFURBISHED RADIO FROM THE DEALERSHIP FOR ABOUT $400. GOOD LUCK GUYS!

    I have a 2012, and my radio is now just starting to mess up. Last Friday, my Nav wasn’t working, and things were loading very slowly. The time and temp were not shown. Radio still worked. Today, Monday, radio still worked but no nav, temp, or date not showing. Get in my car this afternoon, everything working again. Went to go check this evening, messing up again. Ugh! We all need to get together and make a complaint to Chevy. These radios shouldn’t be going out this soon!

    It turned out an easy fix for me. My 2013 GMC Terrain SLT-2 Intellink/infotainment system; screen,radio, back up camera died. There's a fuse panel in the passenger-side footwell, on the center console wall. In there, you'll find fuses, among them is 1 for RDO(Radio) 5A and another is for infotainment systems 20A. (Refer to the back of the diagram on the back of the fuse panel door). Check both to see if one is blown. In my case two of them were blownout. I bought the fuses from Autozone for $8 and fixed it by myself. And everything works great! All the best.

    Hi guys....I have a 2015 gmc terrain and today I was blessed with a black screen 👍.. so I did all the recommended ideas on this situation to no avail...so. I replaced the radio fuse and infotainment fuse with new ones.. I also disconnected the battery from both terminals...cleaned both. Waited 10 min...then connected everything back and BOOM magic all worked again. Lights ,signals, interior lighting and obviously the monitor itself .the radio is ok back up cam ok....hope this helps someone .peace and love to all

    OK, so I have had exactly the same problem, bought an aftermarket radio but showed "locked". so I located the EEPROM chip and removed it....(very easy to remove with solder iron). installed it again. now it's unlocked and everything works as it should. FYI, the the radio has 2 boards, the eeprom is located on the lower board.

    Did you ever fix radio problem? Have same issue

    • @Tuck1298
      @Tuck1298  6 лет назад +2

      Mateo Rodriguez no I bought a radio off of Ebay now my indicator noises work but my radio say "locked " and still dosen't work. Apparently chevy links the vin numbers to the radio, since the used radio doesn't match my vin it doesn't work. I would have to put my old one back in and get the original fixed.

      Mateo Rodriguez on my last video someone said they brought a refurbished radio and had chevy to program it.

    my cellphone wont work anymore with my 2012 chevy equinox. Any suggestions? I tried everything! reformatting my phone, revert back to factory settings on the stereo, update my phone. the one thing that I may need to do is take it back to the dealership for them to update my car because I reformatted the stereo back to factory settings so, that may have something o do with it., any suggestions?? thanks in advanced.

    Very easy. Disconnect both battery terminals and join them together for an hour. By so doing you are resetting the memory

    For anyone still asking, the reason it says LOCKED is because GM requires people to program the replacement parts to the vehicle. It is for "theft" reasons.... if you buy a used one, you can bring a receipt with the vin number of the replacement radio and the dealer can unlock it.

    Hey, I have a 2010 Equinox and absolutely nothing works. No turn signal click, no radio nothing at all. The dealer wanted 12-14 hundred dollars! Blacked out screen. It’s very aggravating

  • @natetoland7537
    @natetoland7537 4 года назад +2

    It's because the operating system from the old radio is locked to the computer of the car, you'll have to take them to a dealer or something to get them reprogrammed

    Thank you for these videos mine just went blank today. Should you still try pushing the Onstar phone button if you don’t use Onstar? I’ve had my 2014 Equinox a year last month. It never has had the backup warning sounds or the lines on the camera. I tried following the book & their commands are not shown on the menu screen. Is anyone has had this issue?

    Obviously it’s a different number it’s not the part that came with the car from the factory. Also don’t buy another junk GM car
