Dang, this goes way back. With that being said, this is one of Coldplay's best songs IMO. ((Seriously, how is this even a B-side? Sad how this is miles better than most hits nowadays))
This is a treasure, I swear to God a treasure in the fullest sense of the word, 10 years from now I would like to know how I'm gonna feel when I listen and watch this!
What? Lmao what does have to do with anything? And actually they were using backing tracks during this time, to emulate string and synthesizer sounds. They’ve been doing that since the jump.
@@USMCLP No, they didn't. Chris Martin played the synthetic strings on his piano. Watch them live, watch their documentaries and read up on them - it's all there in their own words. Every song on Parachutes and by far most of the songs in the AROBTTH era was recorded 'live', i.e. they learned the full song and played and recorded it in one sitting, when recording songs for the album with no post-recording addition of any effects or sounds. That changed though in the latter stages of AROBTTH and moving forward.
@Jeppe Hammer I don’t even know what you’re arguing really, I’m strictly talking about live performances. Yes, they had actual synths on tour (X&Y for example with Guy on a Minimoog Voyager). Yes, Chris has played the Fix You organ sound on his piano. But through out their entire career, they have mostly used backing tracks to replicate instruments they couldn’t physically play on stage. Watch any performance of Clocks. Or any X&Y performance. They’re all playing their own instruments while synths are being played in the background.
if you’re watching this video then you're definitely Coldplay fan.
beautiful

I miss the Coldplay of 1998-2002. amazing songs and a REAL 4-piece band with zero backing tracks or pre-recorded backing vocals.
