This is no NBA today without Elgin Baylor. Go watch any highlights you choose with LeBron or Kobe or Jordan. Elgin was doing that stuff, way back in the 60s. And the younger we've gotten the more forgotten he's become and that's an absolute total crime.
I grew up in So Cal and got to see Baylor and West in person three times. Both were amazing but as Max said, Elgin was doing MJ & Doc before they did and was a far better rebounder than either of them. Many forget that he led the NCAA in rebounding at least once. Easy to make the case for a top ten (non big). To parapharse Chick Hearn.........."Lakers into the front court, Baylor yo-yo the dribble. Now he goes left, fakes Lucas into the popcorn machine, he's in the air, haaaaaangs, puts it in with the left hand"
Still holds the record for most points scored in an Nba Finals game with 61 points and 22 boards, before in induction of the 3 point line. Rest in Peace
Elgin started his career late too at 24 , can u imagine him or wilt coming into NBA at 20? You can make a case that prime Elgin pre knee injury was better than Jordan....I think he still holds finals record of 61 pts vs one of best defensive teams in league history
Max has a point about the upper echelon of NBA players. He got most of them right, but I would replace Moses with Dr J. It's 15 players and most people don't disagree about them, just the order. 1. MJ 2. Kareem 3. LeBron 4. Russell 5. Wilt 6. Magic 7. Bird 8. Kobe 9. Shaq 10. Duncan 11. Hakeem 12. Oscar 13. West 14. Dr. J 15. Elgin Honorable mentions to the 2 Malones and Durant.
@MM MM U have nothing better to do than trash talk an NBA HOFer and USA militant. If you think rings define a player entirely you don’t know basketball. They still talk about Iverson, Malone, Barkley, Stockton, Nash, etc. but they didn’t win a ring. You’re comment is pure idiocy. Imagine putting the time to comment this on a legend who just passed away. You’re sick.
Rest in peace, one of the greatest.

Kobe loved watching Elgin Baylor film
Elgin Baylor only played 48 games in the 1961 season and only on weekends because he was in the army. Still averaged 39 and 19 🔥

Before Dr J came to the NBA, there was Elgin, he was "doctor j" before Julius Erving became Dr J.
He was doing euro steps back then too
truly one of the greatest, he truly deserves a ring from 1972!!
These legends are forced immortalized with the game. Thank you Mr Elgin Baylor. May you rest in heavenly peace 🙏🏽

This man was so great and underrated. One of the greatest players imo 10 top ever. Literally did everything on the court and dominated.
One of the greatest laker ever
Elgin Baylor was the blueprint of The future Laker greats
I've been a Laker fan since 1968 because of Elgin Baylor.

His game was totally different than anybody else's game. It was like he was on the playground.
baylor is like don mattingly. both playing careers spanned the championship droughts of two legendary franchises.
Before Doctor J and Michael Jordan there was the great Elgin Baylor Rest in Peace Elgin in my condolences to his family.
I researched Elgin Baylor a little bit. That’s why I was so hungry when Lonzo Ball got drafted. Sad loss...
My Condolences.

The Michael Jordan, before Michael Jordan
How max leaves out kg is crazy to me
I understand he don’t have a ring, but he still a better playoff performer than Oscar. More wins, better numbers, etc.
This sad asf
At least he's at peace and it was natural causes.
Elgin Baylor is the Los Angeles Lakers.. Jerry West will tell you!
I love how max left out curry , but I'm surprised that iggy wasn't on his list .. hmm interesting
