in general in speedrunning, you are not explicitly required to stream an attempt, a recording , made offline or the vod from a stream, is however required for the mod of a leaderboard for a game to veryify the run, otherwise it's simply not a veryfied run, no matter how fast. there's also something called a segmented run, where you basicly take the best segments of runs and stitch them tougether, they are mostly used to get a feel of what would be the fastest time, keep in mind with better tactics/movement/tech or whatever may be applicable for a game, these segmented runs can be way off after a certain time, tomatoanus has many speedruns explained where he goes indept for a given run regarding the leaderboard rules, tech, and intricacies of speedruns, highly reccomended... if you have an hour or 10 to burn... it's a rabbit hole
so much work, so many ulcers.... and hes still in second place, because the top spot is now 11h 26m. which, to be fair, it took that guy 7 months to do it, but still. imagine if he didnt call it quits after this one, frogman wouldve fucking imploded
@@TrionerExpeliozias It is where you perform just the core tasks to beat the game. Any extra tasks are optional. For Just Cause 3 they prefer you to do this without pausing the timer. My last any% run took me 4 1/2 hours which is ok for someone new to speed running.
I was actually doing an any% speed run of this game today when I realized I forgot to hit record. By the time I got to the Connect the Dots mission I was 40 minutes faster than my last run. Good thing was I found some opportunities to improve my route so I made the adjustments to my LiveSplit file.
I think a great video for you would be futo skates but only once due to unforeseen interference is a perfect 14 minutes of chaos and I think you would enjoy it
you should watch World record Trackmania A-012 by Wirtual who explains the History of Speedrun of this specifi map and still today People try to beat it

The same guy has the any& record at 2 1/2 hours. He also memorized the locations of all of the collectables in the 100% speed run.
@@smashing_data4292 tf Is an any%? Can I start the game and then close It right after for a 0% any% speedrun?

Congrats Chapman!
Streaming is the best way to show you didnt cheat, which happens too often in speed-runs.
