I usually find raw peanuts at asian grocery stores. Just check the expiration date, a lot of time they are close to it. You can just put them raw in the freezer until you're ready to use them to keep them from spoiling for longer.

I had the exact same experience growing up with boiled peanuts. We'd grab them on the way home from church at a roadside farm in Georgia. I still make sure to get some Everytime I visit family. Such a weird cultural thing for the south.

fell asleep watching this and the boiled peanuts conversation made an appearance in my dream. didnt know it was from the drawfee vid penetrating my subconscious until i rewatched the ep after waking up
the conversation i had with jacob discussing boiled peanuts felt very interactive in the dream. i wouldve never guessed it was a direct plagiarism of the drawfee video. karina was very hostile about boiled peanuts in the dream though until she revealed it was because she had never tried one before. and even though the dream adaptation didn't stay true to the original source material i'm willing to forgive it bc the hostility was a good set up for the reveal. the karina character arc was worth the directors taking a few liberties. i feel like it solidified the plot and added in a very needed conflict/resolution arc.
the "punishing the peanuts while they fuck" portion of the conversation was included in the dream adaptation word for word incredible
