    Jim,
    My family has a rich history on your beloved Mag. We owned property near the Thirties and have lived, fished, immersed ourselves in Miner Lake with much fervor. My great grandfather was killed by a competitor outfitter at the base of the Thirties. My wife is a Sudburian but now lives with me in Greenville, SC. I have been inspired by your video to purchase the squirrel stick for future trips Norte and other trips closer to home. We won't be making it home this year😢 since my son is entering university. Maybe next year...
    Go forth, Sir.

    It's very cool that you used the waterways and went thru a culvert, then traveled through what may have been major waterways for Indigenous and others who may have been trappers, loggers, and blacksmiths, and then really bring it home to Tori with her name stamped on it, Happy Birthday Tori! An epic journey. It's just sad about the fire bans, and the people having to flee their homes. Back in those days, they didn't have helicopters and fire retardants, so it is a blessing to have both the old and new ways to conquer forest fires.

    Jim, How many canoes do you have?

    • @JimBairdAdventurer
      @JimBairdAdventurer  Год назад

      Well, my wife runs canoeing classes with ten participants each and a couple instructors so that takes a lot of canoes! Then, I have this solo whitewater canoe, two 15’ prospectors and an 18’ prospector. My dad recently gave me his square back fibreglass cargo canoe too, so, I think about 12. Ideally I’d have a 17’ prospector for tandem tripping made of TuffStuff Expedition, a tandem whitewater specific canoe, an 18’ or more long prospector for family trips. A 15’ Prospector in a whitewater savvy material for long solo wilderness trips. Another lightweight canoe that’s good for soloing (but can be paddled tandem too) for backcountry trout fishing trips where there’s lots of portaging and finally a solo whitewater specific canoe which is what I recently got and used in this vid!

    • @JosephStealin
