Great Video. Found it while thinking about the "Thirsty just Whistle" orange soda painted sign by my house at Varlemann and Neosho. RIP - The Switzer Licorice sign.
Love the last sign...Dau Furniture, I can walk there in one minute, it's just around the corner from my house. Good documentary!!! Enjoyed watching it!
I have loved and been intrigued by these signs for a long time. My brother actually owned the Domino's "Sugar House" on Mississippi across from the park. Now there are two new houses on the lot next to it, and you can no longer see the sign.
there is a good one in between the arch-laclede metrolink station and the arch parking garage. you have to look upwards (opposite the arch) and it is crisp and clear. it stands out because of the city atmosphere.
I grew up mostly on So Bdwy. Across from Miami. An old bldg was there with Belz. On it. I wonder was it ever torn down. I nvr as a kid realized it was crummy. Place to live. Around corner on Salina. A crumbling one we called. Rocky lot. Across from Gambarinas Hall.
These signs are partly why I miss St. Louis so much....... There is so much history. So much that makes it a special place.
Outstanding little documentary. Thank you!
This was great film and I'm so happy we have KETC to create these!

I think it would be cool if people would redo those advertisements on the buildings
I live in philadelphia, and these are common in a lot of the older areas
before there was youtube and the internet I thought I was the only one interested in ghost ads . New York City is loaded with them .
NOW THEY'RE JUST SAYING 'HODL'
