I really hated Constantine (the director) for that. Her reasoning was basically "teach Vertin a lesson". She killed an group of children just to spite an 8 year old.

Although I don't think Schneider directly shot Vertin at any point, since her bullets are magic, she can command them to scratch Vertin's back rather than hitting any vital parts.
@@Tin_Le Schneider explicitly said that even though she (Vertin) is bleeding she can't feel the pain. Granted, that was when she was oranged by Arcana but the point remains; she isn't holding her punches.
It's so refreshing how this game managed to make its MC such an interesting character while still being a gacha game. Miles better than having a blank slate that never talks like all the others, that trope is so outdated.
