If I recall correctly that version was originally intended as a replacement for a submachine gun hence the collapsing wire stock and originally very short barrel
when I first got into guns I passed up a chance to buy a fixed-stock Daewoo for $400 I bought a clapped-out Yugo SKS instead because it was less than half the price I am terrible at making decisions
I wish someone like PSA or Brownells would bring these back but slightly retrofitted to use a standard ar lower with the option for either a collapsible tailhook brace or just a 1913 endplate so you can use a JMAC foldy boi...
Obviously, I know you don’t know me, but I have repeatedly been saying this for several years now. The firearms market is overly saturated with “tacticool crap.” Which is great, every avid shooter needs to own at least one SHTF rifle. That said, there is a huge and I mean huge untapped market for retro guns. If you are in your 20s or 30s, you never had a chance to own cool imported prebans unless you inherited one from a father or grandfather. These guns are prohibitively expensive for most people and you feel guilty putting round counts on them. Someone needs to make this rifle and the FN FNC (Maybe DSA). It would also be appreciated if someone teamed up with Mauser to make completely new K98s. Uzi carbines? There should be three or four for sale in every gun store, it is made from stamped sheet metal for Christ sake… That is my rant… To the extent that some of these guns require polymer hand guards, it’s 2022. Get high quality plastic parts imported, 922r wouldn’t remotely be a concern since all other parts would be American made.
One last thought while I am in full blown rant mode, there is no reason not to have Sig 550 and HK 33 clones too… American made Stg 44 in 7.92 x 33 Kurz should also be thing. I am talking about something that aesthetically could be used in a movie not that abomination Hill & Mac was trying to create.
@@jsledge8557 if they did a retrofitted stg 44, I would want it in 7.62x39 instead of 7.92Kurz. If I drop the coin on these cool old pieces then I want to be able to shoot them often and for affordable rates. X39 is still the cheapest intermediate rifle cartridge even after Russian import bans.
@@jsledge8557 make a version in both. One that takes original and surplus mags in 7.9Kurz & one that takes rock and lock X39 mags, and maybe even integrate a last round hold open feature when using the Yugo mags
That looks like the South Korean Army version. K1 is used by Special Ops and Tank Crews, where the weapon's shorter length works well with the environments.
Most have no idea how good these rifles are. Extremely well built, and function flawlessly. Accuracy is better than most AR's. Only issue is slower cycling than an AR.
I saw one of these and a FN FNC at one of Gov. Newsom’s gun buy back photo ops and I almost cried 😢 Someone was dumb enough to sell a $3,000 gun and a $6,000 gun for about $250 or $300 in gift cards. 🤦♂️
My god. I miss this gun. I liked it more compared to k2. Lighter, compact, slightly uncomfortable to shoot with the collapsible butt stock but I loved the front sight being open. I wish I could shoot more, but Korean military doesn't let conscripts shoot much.....
Where the hell did you get that? I didnt think they brought those over here to the USA....i bet that was a pretty penny, atleast $1,200 back in 2005-2012... Now probably $3,000+
Fun fact the k1 and k2 share a stupid amount of parts with the AR-15 iirc the cam pin is the same lmao, 100% sure that you can change the fire control group out
I love your videos but will give you a brief opinion and gun magazine opinion when these guns hit the market. Now remember these were competing with FN FAL’s(Belgium), H&K 91’s & 93’s, Beretta’s BM59’s, Valmets (can’t recall but in 308’s and 556’s) also 7.62x39’s but these rounds were $1 a pop back then with the Egyptian MAADI’s at $1200 which cost as much as FN FAL’s. And SIG AMT’s & PE57’s…look those up. Several others I can’t think of off the top of my head. I’m not trying to be mean but honest. This gun was considered a piece of S**t back then compared to what was on the market. And if this gives you a history lesson these guns were hot in the market in California back then. BTW I’m almost 69 so I’m giving you a short history lesson of what was available when you could buy drop in sear groups to make your Colt SP1 a full auto weapon for right at $100 in Shotgun News
Designed for the short statured South Korean soldiers ~ military specifications are for a full auto, M-16 magazines, urban warfare, weapon. Is sent home with EVERYONE upon them completing standard basic training!!!!
*slaps the Daewoo* this baby has defended so many rooftops
Love this.
Yessir! 💪🏻

I have my 110C pre ban still. Never sold it. Love this rifle!
Anything by Daewoo is a guaranteed must have in my books

How you like me now!!!
they are probably better at making firearms than cars..
Yeah the car was total junk.
I’ve seen tons of videos on this gun recently now I want it

More like ar.15 and ar.18... k2 is the ak+ar15 hybrid. K1a is di, k2 is longstroke
Is it true ? I would like to ask for some knowledge. The K1 K2 rifle was developed from the Belgian Fn Fal ????
Its a hybrid AR-15 and AR-18 with features from other similar rifles
This is definitely a different find…nice flex bro 😎
