It's very telling that she views difference as an inherent negative, almost like she's a conservative or something.
When I was younger, I was miserable because I hated that I was different (which was due to my ADHD, autism, being queer, and a POC in a place with predominantly white people) to most people and developed an obsession with being “normal”. However, I am so much happier now because I have accepted that I’m different and seek friends who are accepting of me rather than people I have to change myself around. The world would be miserable if every single person was the exact same.

Tells you a lot about someone's personality and life experiences when they interpret that to mean 'bad'.

More and more, these days, I feel like intellectual capability should be displayed next to talking heads as they weigh in on important subjects. Gender is connected to brain (like who do you feel you are instead of chromosomes, hormones and genitals), and autistic people have "different brains" so it totally might be connected. I just never had this sense of gender so I identify as agender. I don't feel womanhood inside me. I don't feel I'm a guy either. Maybe our logical brains just hate gender roles and we realize we don't know what the heck feeling like a man/woman actually is cause the gender stereotypes are bs, and we've always been different from other boys/girls.

I've been in the hospital forbthr last 17 days because they're having a hard time nailing down what's wrong.
I've been having a hard time understanding what the doctors are thinking and where they're going.
They had the chief surgeon sit down with me in Friday to discuss my case. He commented on my Lilo sweatpants and I mentioned he was my autism mascot.

We're probably no more likely to be gay/trans than non autistic people, but we're probably more open about being different with ourselves/others. I think it's similar to other things like racism, if you don't care about social norms and stereotypes then quite often you have less biases.

100%. Also I'll add to this, the autistic trait of questioning and not understanding arbitrary social norms and gendering is a key part of what makes people nonbinary. It is natural for autistic people to be more likely to be nonbinary than the NT population because of this trait.

I believe it is true that transgender people _are_ disproportionately autistic according to the most recent data. The issue is that the response to that should be "Oh, how interesting, I wonder why that is," or "So what?" and not "...and therefore transgender people should not be taken seriously, they are confused autistics who don't understand how gender works, the poor dears. Let's withhold the means to transition from them in case they hurt themselves."
The rate of overlap should not have any bearing on a person's agency and their ability to make decisions about their own body. The assumption Scarcella and others of her ilk make is that because autism is disproportionately represented among trans people, being trans should not be taken seriously; activities to support people to transition their gender are seen as "enabling" a "delusional" mindset. Of course, these people are ableists and they think autism is a mental illness.
In fact, there is considerable overlap between support for a cure for autism, and support for banning gender transition for prepubescent children. To be trans is an aberration. To be autistic is an aberration. And in many cases, when both are present in a person, the solution many people see is that this aberration should be corrected by force.
There is a six times (averaged) increase in autism in the sample of trans people across many studies. That doesn't necessarily mean thst the reverse is true, just thst they are correlated. Also the rates of both phenomena are different (i think the highest estimates of trans people in generalized population is 1.5% and autism is currently just under 3%, with both rising due to awareness and education meaning more observed people). Plus even then it's s correlation not a causality and it's more likely it says something about the socio-cultural construct of gender than neurotype.
This woman keeps going on and on, like "you are not gay, and you also not gay, and no one is gay", and I don't understand. Who is gay then? Is she the only gay person in the entire world? That must be lonely.

The thing about Arielle is she is the same type of person to say “being LGBT is not a personality trait” but then sees someone who is trans or non-binary, has a taste in alt/punk/goth fashion, is a leftist, generally just kindhearted and would not hurt a fly, has multifaceted identities, or an amalgamation of all of them, she goes off on a rant that they are “not gay enough” or are “too gay to be normal” while also diagnosing people as having some kind of mental illness.

And then says “oh I’m not a doctor or therapist. I'm an autistic and am 100% able to tell that living my life as a man was unbearable and living as a woman my mental health and basic happiness are a million times better. There's nothing to be confused by. I could barely get out of bed before. Now I'm more functional on basically every level even in spite of a lot of trauma from family and external sources as a result. I know a lot of queer and trans autistic people and none of them seem unable to tell what makes them happy. They all seem to get healthier after coming out cause we do seem to know how we feel.
I feel the same way but I’m FTM andddddd even if I wasn’t trans I’d want my baby making capability out of my body bc my periods are unbearable, and I’d want top surgery bc my chest has ALWAYS been uncomfortable for me, the way they jiggle and the way they feel, they are absolutely awful, and I also have extremely sensitive skin so even bras that women swear by for being “super comfortable” are NOT comfortable for me. Also!! I had non-binary and masc/queer feelings when I was a TEEN and guess what, I didn’t even know I was autistic until 3 years ago when I was 20…. So all those stupid stereotypes of “autistic ppl are like oh maybe I’m lgbtqia because I’m autistic” I have NEVER heard of that, and if anything then once I turned 18 then I suppressed my trans masc feelings for like SIX years… I tried so hard to be a “proud woman” and like my body, but I’ve never liked my body, not when I was skinny, not when I was fat, and not now as average, because of my chest and curves. I even had an ed at 16-18 and wanted to be very skinny bc I thought it would make me happy but it didn’t, so I just came out as trans to my friends in march and I’ve been so happy since being referred to as he/him. And last year I was basically indoctrinated by the right wing side but then I started questioning it again and being like… y’know I still have the same issues and the right wing side seems to think autism isn’t real. So I’ve went full circle, from hardcore liberal to republicans and back to being liberal. And I know myself and I know you do too. Also I just heard her talk about being brainwashed it’s so absurd, I know who I am and I suppressed my feelings all my adult life until now. I’m happier than I’ve ever been. No one knows you better than you know yourself lmao. Absolutely. I am trans and autistic. Getting bottom surgery over 6 years ago made my life much better. It got rid of most of my dysphoria. It's one less layer of BS I have to deal with. Dysphoria and autism at the same time is not fun.

I struggle employing *sarcasm* into my conversations (I'm pretty sure I overplay the sarcastic tone every time, yet still get anxious if they understood I'm being sarcastic when they don't respond in an obvious manner), let alone some weird between-the-lines stuff. If I state something, it's exactly what I mean. If I didn't mention some subtle nuance, I probably didn't mean it.
Her mocking voices gives off a lot of similarities to some of the high school bullies that I had to contend with. The sort of people who would dismiss anything you say with a mocking laugh and expect others around them to join in.

Oh if you look into her history you'd feel that way even more. So before she "left the left" she found a group of trans minors online and she brain washed and manipulated them to such a degree they were all deeply traumatized. It took them years to realize they were being abused. And worse still, we all watched it happen! I was following these guys and a girl at the time and I was shocked when they started talking about their "RUclips friend". She actually came to visit them! She was a woman in her... 30s I believe. They were all minors, literally not even 18 when she "befriended" them.
I remember feeling really confused because my gut feeling was "this is so wrong and I don't like her" but I couldn't really give a logical reason. Because well, it happens, older people can become friends with younger people. I work with people half my age and we are getting on great. But like, it still felt too weird. And then she came to visit and I'm sorry but I would never allowed my teenager to hang out with some adult stranger. It was during that visit that I unsubbed from her because she was.... one giant red flag. For example, she'd be so passive aggressive, especially towards the trans girl and the longer Arielle stayed the less we saw of that girl and she just seemed more and more depressed. She stopped talking really because every time she'd say something Arielle would shut her down (and pretend to be all sweet, like "Oh just kidding, he he"). She was isolating them in real time, separating the group, saying incredibly mean things and gas lighting them into thinking they were too sensitive if they got offended. Finally, one of the kids turned 18. And what did she do first?
Oh she persuaded him to make a video of him actually showing her HIS GENITALS!!! For "scientific purposes". I swear I still have trauma from these videos. He was so absolutely uncomfortable and yet she was pushing and manipulating....
Finally, the guy just disappeared one day. For like a year. And after a year he posted a lengthy video about her and how abusive and manipulative she is and the mental trauma it caused him.

It's always so depressing when there's someone who is themselves part of a minority and probably has experienced bullying and unfair treatment in their life, and then they turn around and start bullying people they perceive as inferior.
Unfortunately that's how it works sometimes. When the oppressed becomes the oppressor. Or the abused becomes the abuser. That's because they didn't learn anything else. They have never been accepted for who they are so they turn the table and do not accept others they perceive as inferior. She needs a few sessions with psychotherapist. I think she has never accepted being LGBTQ+ so she doesn't accept it in others, especially if the come from a different group of people. Self acceptance is liberating.

I'm also ftm trans and autistic. In my case, I was diagnosed w autism around 16 and realized I was trans about a year later. These two realizations are some of the best things to ever happen to me.
The ASD diagnosis helped me to finally understand why I acted so differently than everyone else around me and now that I understand that, it gives me the ability to form real relationships.
Then figuring out I was trans only made my life better because now I understand why my body didn't feel like it belonged to me.
Now I'm almost 2 weeks post top surgery and I know surgery won't fix my anxiety or my depression, but let me tell you I SOBBED with joy upon seeing my flat chest when they took the medical dressings off. It's still looking a bit gross because the scars aren't done healing yet, but it's everything I could have hoped for.

When Arielle makes her argument about how "the autism came first" and "did they just say the quiet part out loud", she is implying that "transgenderism" (her words not mine) is a brain disorder like ASD.
The extreme transphobes like to use made up medical-sounding diagnoses like "autogynephilia" (AGP) or "rapid onset gender dysphoria" (ROGD).
Like Meg and Jenna both point out, Arielle seems to ignore that a significantly more plausible explanation for the correlation between autism and LGBT (including trans) is that many autistic people have difficulty accepting social constructs and cultural norms at face value, so we have an easier time dismissing things like traditional gender roles.
(Edit to add: To be clear, I'm not saying that being LGBT is a choice. What I'm saying is that like many people, I think the correlation between autism and LGBT is more likely to do with the way social norms and stigmas hold less weight for us, so we more easily accept people (including ourselves) for who they are regardless of social pressure to conform.)
On your last bit ("difficulty accepting social constructs and cultural norms at face value"), I would say that it's more like fundamental differences in processing. Difficulty implies it's a 'lack of' skill or what have you, which seems to be only partially true. The foundation, however, is processing and that's far far harder to really understand because on some level, it's impossible. Someone who isn't colorblind can't really understand the experience of someone who is or vice versa, because it's not really about lacking language or definition of some/all colors. Someone can learn to identify situations where colors they can't see might be a problem and raise a warning flag, but that doesn't mean they're seeing those colors. It just means they recognize that there's a more accurate response required.
Honestly, it’s her use of these phrases (and “gaslighting” later) that makes me think she really is just baiting and trolling for views, because otherwise they’re completely nonsensical.
As I read that, your hypothesis could only be valid if you believe that sexual orientation and gender identity are just things people choose arbitrarily in order to conform with their neighbors.
This certainly runs counter to what LGBT -- and straight -- people will say, and everyone LGBT I have gotten to know, has struggled because they were gay or had gender dysphoria. They didn't choose it for convenience.
Also, one of the things my older sisters have a problem with is the "social contagion" in ONLY the younger generations. But, if you think about it, doesn't it kind of make sense? If being autistic and queer are so connected or correlated enough, and autism is semi-genetic, it would make sense that the younger generation is just naturally 'more queer', no? And ofc, being autistic doesn't make you queer (or vice versa), but there's still obviously a correlation.

I had a discussion with a homophobe, who also had so much internalized misogyny that I don't know how she functions. She kept going on about sexuality being a chooce and all that, so I asked her when she chose to be straight, and she actually answered sincerely. She told me about a woman she was with briefly and how she decided she didn't want that when she overheard her deeply bigoted father saying nasty things about her being gay because she was a tomboy. He didn't actually know she'd been seeing a girl. He just decided a girl who likes sports= bad and lesbian. She said she chose to be straight after that, and I felt incredibly sad for her. It doesn't excuse the rancid thing she's said or her complete denial about the existence of bisexuality, but it really explains a lot. She has a particular disdain for lesbians and it stems from her father's misogyny and homophobia and her falling into the worst of evangelical christianity. It seems like a lot of the "It's a choice" crowd might be bi and choosing to suppress part of their sexuality.

As a parent of two autistic teens, i fricking hate people who infantilise autistic people and undermine their feelings and opinions. I have had a few discussions on sexuality with my older son ( he is over 18) and he has come to the conclusion that he is Asexual as he doesn't find any one atractive ,and i have said that i love him no matter what and have no issues with whatever sexuality he is. Our younger teen isn't at the age / maturity level to discuss things as deeply as his brother can but we have had chats about" caring" feelings and getting consent from people who you would like to hug or kiss and not invading people's personal space .
God forbid I be trans and autistic. I’m seriously just trying to make it through this year. I should be allowed to exist. Everyone should be allowed to exist.

I have had to deal with similar garage being aro ace and agender while daring to be *gasp* autistic. A lot of people say my autism is the reason I'm "confused" or "sexless", or that labeling as aro ace is just a cope because no one wants to date an autistic person and so much more. Kids can know what crushes they have for sure, I didn't know that girls could like girls but i liked them anyway.
Autistic people are more trusting, which makes them more easily manipulated and tend to fall for scams and manipulative partners and exploitative "friends".
There's just no cult of the gays trying to convince everyone to turn gay. That's just not a thing. There's not a lot of money in it compared to, idk, starting a church.
My worry with a lot of this is that non-diagnosed autistic teenagers probably feel like there's *something* different about themselves, and they can be pressured into the wrong conclusions by bad actors. But obviously the correct response to this would be open-minded affirming care that supports the person until they're able to draw their own conclusions.

I could imagine that the correlation is actually not "If you're autistic you're more likely to be LGBTQIA+", but "If you're autistic and LGBTQIA+, you're more likely to realize it, accept it and come out as LGBTQIA+".
Also, even if my autism had caused my trans identity, transitioning has still made me so much happier with myself, and the more comfortable I felt in my own body and the more openly I expressed my gender identity, the easier it got for me to accept the challenges I face due to being autistic in a world designed for neurotypicals.
That could well be how it is. I'm however interested in if ADHD (and autism) correlates with a higher probability of polyamory. I've seen discussions where people say everyone they know in the poly spaces is ADHD. In my peer support group there's multiple poly people, though still in the minority. But I mean if in the general population there's like 1% of those who practice polyamory, in my ADHD group it's more like 15%.
I'm certain I was born queer, but polyamory is a lifestyle, not an innate identity. Though it does kind of feel that way to me, since it comes so naturally. I just think it's the brain not conforming to social norms, because I tend to rationalize everything. Some people are appalled that I'm married and polyamorous, and I just don't understand why it's so difficult for them to wrap their heads around.
@elainelouve I believe polyamory is one of those LGBT things where you've got it or you don't. My best friend cannot function in a monogamous relationship, they say it feels suffocating and uncomfortable. They've almost always been in open or intentionally poly relationships. I, on the other hand, couldn't function in a poly relationship, despite having no problems with it on a moral level. I've seen how well it works for my friend, but it's just not for me. And I've seen similar things from other people. I do believe more people would be openly poly if there wasn't the societal stigma on it, but I dont think you "choose" if you're comfortable with poly relationships, I think it's something inherent from person to person.

Actually at this stage in life I don't want to have multiple relationships. I did, but when the falling in love period ended, it became too much. I just prefer to engage in other stuff. However it's nice that my husband has found a partner. Them going out together also gives me more time on my own.

A trait of autism is being non-judgmental, or a tendency to be non-judgmental. Why would that not carry into sexuality? My son is autistic, he has no preference. I’m autistic, neither do I. What difference does gender really make in a heart bound relationship? I had an autistic uncle, he was non-sexual. I have two other sons on the spectrum, they aren’t looking for relationships. Is it the autism or the generation they belong to? I don’t know. Does it really matter?
Just for clarity, these are all “high functioning” autists capable of masking their autism successfully. Except for the uncle, he was clearly neurodivergent by his temperament.
Yet, my brother is autistic and he is 100% gay and he does not find the body of a woman attractive in any way. I have an autistic female friend who is heterosexual and has never been aroused by the body of a woman. Sure, they both are absolutely non-judgemental, and my brother for example used to have a sentimental crush on a woman when he was a teen. But they are not asexual and they want to be in a relationship with someone they can have sex with, meaning being in a relationship with a woman is, for both of them, absolutely not possible. It's not because you're open-minded that suddenly there is no limits anymore to your attractions and desires.
I think you may just have a queer family that's also autistic. Plenty of autistic people have gender preferences, and plenty of us are judgemental. Personally, I don't care about gender because I'm ace, not because I'm autistic, and yes, I'm judgemental as hell, I just judge things people have control over as opposed to things out of their control.
Your family sounds lovely!! And just fyi, functioning labels aren't really used anymore as they aren't regarded as accurate. "High masking" would probably be more of the word to use for the other family members besides the uncle. 👍

I was talking about being judgmental and getting all up into other people’s business about sexual preference or identity. Not that autistic people can’t have preferences. I’m speaking about my experiences, not anyone else’s. There are many in the autistic community that know what I’m trying to say and/or can identify with it.
This video made me cry because I was bullied and a gay autistic kid, now I'm 21 and gay and still autistic and it hasn't faded it won't fade.

As an autistic queer person, I never really had an innate sense of gender to begin with. I always felt disconnected from gender roles because I didn't care about social norms. I just feel much more comfortable as a androgynous/masc person now.
Same, I'm Bisexual and autistic and I learned I liked girls before I got diagnosed. I don't think I'm Bi because I can't read social cues💀. I think Arielle was generalizing because it's not impossible to think your queer if you really just don't fit in but that isn't every autistic queer persons feelings
I'm trans ftm and all my life I've been sure that all of my hypersensitivity issues could be explained by dysphoria. I went from "I'm not a real man" through transition to "oh wait, maybe I'm just not a real human" to "I've been autistic this whole time???". My trans>autistic pipeline was really clogged, not gonna lie.
I think I'm in a similar spot right now, I'm beginning to think I'm autistic, but it's hard to figure out whether something is maybe autistic masking, or rather me trying to play the cis boy role (I'm transfem). It's hard to figure out multiple parts of your identity at once!
@kaioh16 Im ftm early transition (figuring out a name so username is still wrong), and i also really struggle with seperating the mask of my assigned gender from my autistic mask. Whenever i'm in an anxiety inducing situation, i automatically bring out my overly feminine, customer service voice ive copied from my mom. I quit a job before i even knew i was trans, because it brought that voice out so much, and i found it made me feel awful and i couldnt place why, for a while i thought maybe my mask just needed some tuning lol. But yeah, its seriously confusing, and its made finding a normal speaking voice really tough, but im hoping voice training helps me some
I used to think that medical transition would solve all my problems. Then in my early 20s I got an autism diagnosis. Then I understood that transition would help with dysphoria but not all the other stuff. And that turned out to be correct. Bottom surgery got rid of most of my dysphoria. But I still have issues with anxiety, depression, meltdowns etc.
@@jennoscura2381 I had the same thing! My psychiatrist told me that once I start taking testosterone I won't need any other medication (I was on antidepressants at the time). And when it didn't fully "fix" me I felt even more broken. Always looking for an excuse to take myself out of uncomfortable situations rather than power through like everyone around me. Can't believe that I was told that hormones cure depression and then felt guilty that they didn't. I had no idea that might be a common experience. I'm so glad that this community exists

I worried a lot when I was questioning my gender if I was seeking a new mask hoping it would make me confident and not anxious, because it's something I've done a lot in my past. After a lot of self reflection I've come to the realization that I do want this regardless of if it helps my autism symptoms. But even with it in mind I still struggle with thinking if I mask better, my anxiety will go away, and when I feel dysphoria clear up just a bit in certain areas, I can easily fall into a place of getting my hopes up almost that the same thing will happen with my autism symptoms as my transition progresses
I hate Arielle Scarcella with a passion. When I first found out I was non-binary, I knew I never wanted to be with somebody like her. She acted like someone who is very abusive towards other people and has a superiority complex over other minorities, and she made me fear to date a woman for a long time. Now that I'm confident in my bisexuality and now know that most lesbians don't mind trans and nonbinary people like me, I feel more proud to date anybody who is accepting of my identity. Also the whole "nobody wants to be different" shtick from her is BS. I was well aware I was different ever since I got my autism diagnosis at a young age and I embraced being different from everybody else. I even like it when people call me weird because I know that anybody can be weird no matter whether or not their neurodivergent.

The really wild thing about this and people who think this way is like- I'm a gay autistic trans man, I've been medically transitioned for over 10 years, I'm happily partnered in a poly relationship and involved in the B*SM community,- I've never known what it's like to be an adult woman and I'm very happy with my choices.
But people will still look you in the face and tell you you're a deluded autistic adult-child who's being tricked. Like nobody came and told me to do any of this, but it really just shows you how lowly they think of both autistic and LGBT+ people. I can't possibly be making my own decisions, I have to have been groomed into it, and no amount of explaination that I realized all of this about myself before social media was even a mainstream thing will change their minds, because they don't believe autistic people have minds of our own, to the point where they're the ones who look ridiculous for calling your 10+ year way of life a deluded phase.

VICE just put out a great video on detransitioners. One person interviewed got diagnosed with gender dysphoria and began transitioning until they got diagnosed with autism and came to realize they weren't transgender and autism explained their struggles. This person described the autism symptoms of feeling awkward in their body, socially withdrawn, etc.
THAT SAID - this person specifically didn't want their story generalized and weaponized against the trans community. The point was to start a good-faith discussion about properly diagnosing gender dysphoria and bringing up potential pitfalls as we try to provide gender affirming care to people that are truly transgender.

Out of curiosity, did that person undergo any kind of medical transition (HRT, surgery, etc)? I get the impression that most people who begin transition and then realize they _aren't_ trans tend to do it early on (unless they're being pressured by family, friends, religion, or their job to detransition).
It's sad that the person _knew_ that their story would be weaponized against people, even though detransition is _so_ rare that that person could potentially be one of the only autistic detransitioners on the planet.
It is so important to listen to detransitioners because I feel that they can actually help improve healthcare for those with gender dysphoria. One thing I dislike is when detransitioners are written off for being a small percentage. Doesn’t matter. Let’s hear from happy transitions as well as unhappy transitions. That way we can assist in making healthcare for the trans community better and more capable of addressing any and all issues with the process. It’s not about taking detransitioners stories and trying to ban their healthcare. It’s about reevaluating how we approach each person and their journey. Transitioning is such a large step in someone’s life and such a commitment that I don’t think it should be treated like a “one size fits all” journey.
It must also be noted that this individual’s experience doesn’t mean that because we’re autistic, (or are neurodivergent in some other way,) that we’re not trans or gender-diverse.

i was the opposite myself- i’ve known or atleast my family knew i was autistic since like baby age because like my whole family is and i realised i was queer at like 11, but i only got diagnosed autistic now (i’m 14 almost 15)
@Peyton-plays-videogames I'm 34, I was a kid when they still didn't think females could be autistic. I wish that was a joke. It took me 34 years for a doctor to tell me I was autistic, and that was only because I pushed to be evaluated. I knew I was lgbtq from a really young age, I became aware of attraction to any and all genders/gender expressions by the time I was 7, which led me to realize in high school that the way someone looks plays almost no part in my attraction to them.
Honestly, I can't believe that she was one of the first RUclipsrs I encountered back when youtube was still mostly new and I loved her channel and content so it's been heartbreaking and aggravating watching her go down this shit for brain spiral. And makes you rewatch her old videos with completely new context. 😞

I also used to watch and enjoy her content because I was just starting to question my sexuality, I stopped watching her because some of her content made me uncomfortable and remembered about her like a month ago. It was awful finding out what kind of person she actually is, but I'm glad I left before it got this bad.

I've seen several of these transphobes slip further and further into other discrimination. Ableism seems to be the easiest slide, Arielle just doesn't respect the Neurodivergent.

As someone who is autistic and have been president of an LGBTQ club and interested in LGBTQ stuff, I can tell you that being homophobic or transphobic is the most harmful things I've seen.
When I was younger I was constantly told that what i felt was "wrong". I don't really have passion for art anymore due to it being a "want not a need". I used to just hide in my room because I thought I was ruining everyone's life by having meltdowns. I hated myself that I couldn't just control myself. I used to flap my hands, but was shamed out of it. I was medicated to make excitement dull. But at least it "solved my depression". When having medicine withdrawals, my Mom would tell me I'm over reacting and get mad at me when I had to leave work. I was constantly in ABA as if they were trying to "fix me", but they couldn't figure out to "fix me".
When I came out my family refused to accept me for years. I literally had to leagally change my name before they realized I was actually trans. I was going by my perferred name completely at school and work, which caused confusion. My Mom teases me for shaving my arms and wanting to wear make-up still to this day. She also teases me for my hair because I never learned how to properly brush it.
Yes, there are bad autistic people. Yes, there are bad queer people. But telling people they are horrible for things they can't control is vile. It causes more harm than you will ever know.
I never really had friends until college, years after I came out. I'm still surprised when my friends are understanding because it weird. I actually have confidence within myself. They see me as me rather than someone to pity. I fear the day I'm going to lose them. Because people in my life tended to disappear randomly. But these friends don't feel like that. They accept my flaws and my strengths.
When people push for acceptance, it doesn't mean accept everything without questions. It means don't tell people they're monsters for things out of thier control. And look at them as people rather than monsters. Being able to accept myself was the best thing I could ever do and I believe everyone deserves that. I will continue to push acceptance. Because it doesn't hurt anyone to be trans. The only thing it hurts is the ability to sort people into two categories to force them to conform.

As someone who is autistic, I spotted the sexism and misogyny that come with the TQ in LGBTQ stuff. I support the LGB and the terfs but you cant change sex and male need to be excluded from female space no matter what is going on in their head.

Im autistic, bi, and a detransitioner. When i first saw this video from arielle. I was frustrated as fuck with her. First of all it seems like she and other nurotypicals see's autisim in two ways either the super genius, savant, sheldon cooper type, or the type were we need extra support in everything and cant function anywhere. Not ynderstanding that it is literally called autisim spectrum disorder. Its a spectrum with a lot of shades of grey. Autistic people can have gender dysphoria and have the ability to consent just like everyone else. It is disgusting how arielle thinks that we are gay, trans, ect because of autisim and its the autisims fault. This is our experiences and opinions and we have the right to share them just as much as you do. Lots of Love to my fellow lgbtq+ nurodivergent people and happy almost pride month 🏳️🌈 😊❤
It's always refreshing to see a detransitioner support us trans people. Feels like almost every time you see one of them online it's because they got scooped up by transphobes. arielle was one of the first lesbian creators i watched on here 10 years ago when i was really coming into my lesbianism, and i hadn't watched her since i was 14 so seeing all the backwards stuff she touts now is really upsetting as an autistic and queer person. I discovered i was autistic nearly a decade after i realized i was gay, and neither is directly related to the other. it's just damaging and hurtful when non autistic people speak on it as if they know personally what it's like at all.
