To be able to answer the questions correctly requires a very good memory and to have been widely ready and experienced. A high IQ need not necessarily be a requirement.
REALLY!!! It seems to change exponentially, as well. If I had to write in the names of the countries on a globe of the world outlining ALL the present day countries, I would FAIL miserably. I know there's 7 continents but the countries and all the cities there in, are so vastly different from what we learned in the 60s... I'm grateful for the library of knowledge my brain contains; sadly though (sort of), I'm highly selective of what I add to it. Too much unnecessary clutter! Superfluous jibber don't you think
-You can't call a quiz tough when at least two questions contained the answer in itself = A Christmas Carol for something that took place on Christmas eve or that the book The Great Gatsby had Jay Gatsby as its protagonist. And that the main ingredient of Kung Poo chicken was chicken came as no surprise.
I know it's probably meaningless and shallow, but a little range chart for scores at the end would be a nice touch with your quizzes. Just something to help us with where we stand in the quiz-makers estimation. Thank you, great quiz!
Good quiz ... I scored 92/100 ... 4 wrong in each half. a few clarifications: question 59 - The Arabian Desert is actually larger than the Gobi Desert but is considered part of the Sahara, hence the Gobi is considered the largest desert in Asia. question 81 - Big Ben refers to the bell inside the tower, which is called The Elizabeth Tower
@@johntatum1951 I agree that Gobi is the correct answer. I am just pointing out that some people say the Arabian Desert is the correct answer. Geography experts consider the Arabian Desert, which is in Asia, (mostly in Saudi Arabia) and larger than the Gobi, to be a part of the Sahara Desert, not a desert in its own right, and therefore Gobi is considered the largest. FYI, Gobi in Mongolian means desert, so to say Gobi Desert is redundant.
Not really a great quiz; there were several ambiguous answers. Sometimes the test taker is smarter than the test maker which kind of makes the whole exercise pointless.
Actually the clock tower in London is not called big ben, big ben is the name of the bell in the clock tower, the tower itself is calld the Elizabeth clock tower
Absolutely. If he took his wife's name as an adult does that really qualify as part of his middle name? Generally in Western culture formal names are bestowed at birth by parents. "Nick names" are acquired later in life but they are not considered formal.
Ja Fritz, sehr gut! Ich hatte das auch gesehen. He also pronounced Iago's name wrong (said Lago!) And a couple of Norwegian words incorrectly (I had trouble with them, also) However, x=9 was his biggest mistake and catching that shows you know the right answer. Bottom line-- 95 out of 100 questions & answers read correctly in succession earns an A- in my opinion UND, Fritz, du hast auch sehr gut gemacht!
I came here to say Big Ben is the name of the bell. The tower in which it’s housed is actually called Elizabeth Tower but I see others have pointed that out already
I lost count but I think I got 79 out of 100. I was cooking dinner & doing dishes while doing the quiz. Not too bad for 69 year old grandma. I don't think my 31 year old son could do better.
The depression was not in the 20s it was in the 30s it followed the 1929 market crash next question the tower in London is not big Ben it is the Elizabeth tower which is just renamed big Ben is the bell
Exactly.. the crash was very late in 1929, October I believe. The depression began in the 30's in fact more toward the middle of it. Lotta people don't know the cause but it was because 90% margin buying was allowed with no other restrictions. Joe Kennedy made a fortune in the market he shorted everything. I was born in 42 and remember Dad really struggling to find decent work (he never served because he already had 2 kids).
92-100 correct, to be fair a lot were from deduction, would be better or harder if they mixed as some had obvious 2 wrong answers. Big ben is the bell not the clock tower, another brick in the wall PTII, but this couldn`t possibly constitute towards IQ lol, enjoyable though.
90 out of 100 correct. Not too bad for a 70yr old 🧓.Love doing these to keep my mind sharp.
I'd love to see a college kid take this quiz......it would make a GREAT RUclips vid :)

High IQ is not requiered...
But a good, selektive memory is useful... 🤔🤨🧐👍
Is that your excuse for getting 32? If you really thought that, why did you do the test in the first place? Hahahaha.
but it helps
I'm 82 and got 94 right! (educated, well-read, and well-traveled)

Sort of similar to all the vehicles on today's highways: If I can't see the name on it as it passes, I've pretty much no idea what it is!
