Hey Eli, I just wanted to say you have been a major inspiration for me in my life. I've been watching your videos since I was 13, that's 6 years now. You shaped my hobbies, like woodworking and blacksmithing. Thanks for that, man. Love the videos.
same been watching since i was 10 which was 8 years ago, it’s crazy to think how much he influenced my interests in smithing and other hands on crafting things
Seeing your emotions at the end of this video was amazing. This the Eli I love. This is the homie I’ve been following for years. Life is so hard and I’ve grown up with you. Seen the moving out and the relationship struggles you went through as I was. And I’m just so happy that your creative spirit is still here. You inspire many people to be creative and try things. And I hope you don’t ever stop making dope things and funny videos about them. You’re part of the positive side of life. Keep it up
The prison break bit made me cackle like a madman. Your work never fails to put a smile on my face Eli. And that last ballista shot was *mwah* chef's kiss
It feels like yesterday I was 15 watching your vids with my friends, building stuff and running around in the woods. I'm so glad you're still at it man. Stay up man
Heya Eli, I've dropped some comments and messages like this before, but now feels like a much more important and accurate time to say this. I've been watching your videos religiously since homemade weapons part 3, and the journey you've been on has inspired me to be a better man than I could've been by now. I'm now 22, and finally starting to get my life on track. Your videos, and seeing your growth almost feeling I was growing with you, has helped me enormously. It makes me ecstatic to see the vigor and excitement has been reignited in you. You are an amazing man with such a bright and talented mind. I wish for you that no one ever tries to take that beauty away from you again. From an unknown man that you've helped tremendously by being you, I love you brother and I hope your day is fantastic, and the ball keeps rolling up for you. Much love and support, I can't wait to buy another hoodie for this coming winter.
i didn’t realize i’d been watching ur videos for almost 10 years now, been here since the early days and it’s great to see the passion and ingenuity of the backyard builds again, much love and can’t wait to see what’s next in the ballista build and beyond
It's good to know I'm not the only one who can't sleep because I am passionately modeling, designing, and refining a host of ideas in my head. All this cool stuff you're doing is going to keep me up at night :) Good to see stuff go so well for you man
This build is one of my favorites! You could use a hand crank like you see on boat trailers and add a trigger mechanism so as you pull it back to a certain spot it automatically locks so you can get the crank off
Hey Eli it’s been a year since I’ve watched one of your videos and I’m so happy to be back watching the channel. Im 21 now and you’ve been entertaining and inspiring me for the past 9 years and I just wanted you to know that you are doing great work!! Keep it up dude and I can’t wait to keep building along with you!
As always Eli, You are an absolute unit! These last two video really feel like OG ZNA vids, and I'm so glad to see you this passionate about a dope ass build! The humor is immaculate as usual, and I cant wait to see what else you come up with to complete this legendary project! Love and luck as always!
Eli, I've been a huge fan of the channel since I stumbled across one of the homemade weapons videos, atleast a few years after their release of course, and I've enjoyed watching you explore different avenues and interests. Just remember, your true fans are fans of you and your ingenuity, creativity and, love for making things with your own hands. Many have stated it before but, it's not just about the weapons, it's about that certain "ZedNaught magic", the "Eli touch" that you bring to your content. Never forget that, my man. Keep it up and, no amount of youtube "fame" is worth your sanity.
I'm really interested in seeing what you do for a frame. You'll want some outriggers to keep it stationary. Do you think you will do the two posts lift-off method for the trigger? I was thinking about the drawing mechanism, it needs to be more permanent right? What about a boat trailer crank? They use a thick wide strap with a hook in the end and the crank should have gear reduction to make the draw easier to work. Just a suggestion, unless you're going to go all out and use an electric winch. Have fun, be safe.
So happy to see you passionate about a build! Honestly your projectile weapons have always been my favorite videos to go back and binge watch. Hope you stay warm as the weather gets colder, and in regards to building the final version of the ballista, i believe Ronnie Coleman put it best when he said "ain't nuttin but a peanut"
Next time, we'll be working on the frame, ratchet, and firing mechanism. Be sure to subscribe and turn on notifications so you don't miss out on a truly life changing viewing experience.
I looked at the Scottish title thing last year but went with buying land on Mars. This year I'm getting the Established Titles pack. I like the fun novelty idea plus they either preserve or plant a tree or multiple trees on your behalf. And it helps this channel! 🤓😎
Should've used a come along or a ratchet strap. Not only that but should've made a bow string from fishing line that uses the same materials as the synthetic materials used normally for bow strings, also add some elastic string to give the bow string some flex. 200lb test for the main string and 50 - 100lb test for the finishing line wrap. You'd either have the elastic string as a core or the 200lb test line. I've only had the 200lb test line as the core.
You could use a hand winch instead of the ratchet. Quicker and easier loading. Hand winches can come with a ratcheting lock, so it's safe too. (handwinch like used on boat trailers)
1 12x20x2 piece of oak wood, a set of stock swaybar links from a 93 jeep cherokee, a12"piece of allthread/matching washers and nuts to fit the links, a 14" length of 1x2 ash, a stainless steel slotted serving spoon, eyebolts, and some bungee cords = A completely OP catapult for garden snails. There are no pics but in your mind.
Hey Eli, established titles is a scam. You don't get to be a lord for a one foot plot of land, you don't even get that plot of land, since by Scottish law you can't sell a plot of land that is so small that it holds no practical use. Please please please look into it.
Love this build! Dont forget to add flights to the ballista bolts, historically they used leather for stability. An idea for the crank to ratchet it further back could even be a set of bike pedals!
I’m still glad after 7 years of watching this channel I can never fail to be entertained. I remember building a full sized crossbow when I was around 12-13 after being inspired to do so by one of your videos and it ended up having a range of about 50 feet! I even made some of the saw blade axes and tried to make the reverse pistol crossbow which didn’t exactly work all too well. I’m glad I was able to become interested in that sort of creativity through your channel, keep up the good work man.

If you’re relying on glue strength my advice as a plumber is to use blue lava glue. It melts the joints together and would be stronger.
That ballista has MAJOR potential. Keep it up Eli ❤
Thanks! Will do!
