Just completed my first playthrough, instead of using distract too you can draw enemies closer to you by dipping in and out of hiding so that when they turn back round you can then rush up and take them out silently. Works wonders on grouped up enemies.

even in very first missions, having two scouts (with passive ability to run faster) can clear whole map with knives, thanks to scouting peek ability
