So there are essentially two stages to learning how to dance: first, practice, just try, just do it, practice is the only way to learn. Second, think less. This solves most issues with dancing. Whenever you can't seem to get a step right, it's probably because you're overthinking it, making it too technical and/or trying to section it in too small and detailed chunks. What I'm saying won't make you Hritik Roshan/Madhuri Dixit level, but you will sure have a blast and look great.

Do some stretching, warm up and soften your neck, hips and spine, gently make some random moves you don't usually get to make in your everyday routines. Then start with something easy, catchy and slightly repetitive, such as Zinda banda from Jawan or Dance pe chance from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Don't speed down the video or you will fall into overthinking. Try a few times regardless the results, just practice, but not too much as if you wanted to make it perfect. Don't hold your breath! Some more remedies against overthinking: put on a song that really sends you nuts, turn lights off and randomly let yourself go; dance in company of kids and try to enter their same mindset; practice bellydance and discover muscles and joints you didn't even know you had; practice bouncy dance styles, like Charleston or Afro; if you are a lady and if this is a thing where you live, get out there to a social dance and let someone lead you, no wrestling, switch off your brain and follow. And remember the three most important things when it comes to dancing beautifully: confidence, confidence and confidence!
