I've noticed a drop in likes and comments on my feed BUT I haven't been posting there consistently so that might be the true cause. (I haven't noticed a drop in stories, where I post daily.) This past week, though, I've been posting MUCH more, including IGTV and Reels. No noticeable difference yet but I know I can't just show up for a few days and expect instant results. I just don’t understand why they’re so money hungry...Instagram is Instagram, TikTok is TikTok, they have different purposes. No one asked for reels or for the shopping tab. They changed the whole layout to the point where it’s not even Instagram anymore it’s just a wanna be TikTok. They are turning into a horrible app. Once was about interaction, engagement, meeting new accounts and people. Now it’s hard to do any of that, it’s not fun anymore 🤦🏻‍♀️

I really do understand the importance on using reels, however it's impossible to use them if you still don't have them. Some countries have yet to have the reel function, so they can't make them yet. There are other ways to uplevel your engagement than using reels, which is also important to keep in mind :-) I don't use reels (I've done 1-2), and I still have great engagement from my followers in my stories and DMs :-D

I had a question why does the rate of engagement with our content of Instagram is far less than the number of followers we have. For instance if you 100k followers you hardly get 5k people engaging with it ???

I think the reason is that each and every one of us have tons pf accounts we follow. And it just isn't possible to see and engage with all, athough that doesn't mean we don't like their content. We just can't have it all.

It's pretty normal for all accounts to have an engagement rate between 3-4%, meaning that if you have 1000 followers, only around 15-20 people will actually engage. If you have around 5-6% engagement rate, you're doing REALLY well!
Also, it's important to note that you shouldn't focus on the follower number. What's important is that you have your ideal clients/customers in your followers. Wouldn't you rather have 500 followers that actually engage/buy from you than 10000 followers who doesn't? I have helped my clients delete over 500 followers from their account that didn't fit their ideal client criteria, and the engagement rate went up after 2 days :-)

@@getleadswithsarah5375 wtf that’s is not true...I started my page in august and since the begining my posts reached always more people then I have followers I am currently on 8 000 followers and still is growing and my engagement is according to your calculations pretty good. But I used to have targeted above 1 000 000 weekly and now it’s roughly 500 000 and I think that next week, it will be even less... like 3-4 % engagement rate is making sense when you have millions of followers not thousands or even less what most people in videos like this have.

I have a business account as well, and I can't use the music on Instagram either. This is probably because artists don't want us profiting from their work. If you want music, I'd suggest getting a subscription with Artlist or Epidemic Sound. Both of those can be used to add music to videos that you edit in you video editor. They won't work for spur-of-the-moment Reels, but they are royalty free and work well for pre-edited content 🖤

What are your thoughts on Tiktok? My company (TikTok: @moonbeamweddings) has been on there since before Reels was introduced (or cough, cough copied). I believe the younger generation seems to be more involved on there and possibly might hit my target audience more. Should I continue on there? Do you think it will be the newest app for us to grow from like RUclips or IG back in the day? Or should I stop and make everything on Reels? There is a way to gain more likes, followers, and engagement on Instagram! Be a well known celebrity, be good looking, make sure you are rich, have semi-nude photos of yourself, and/or do all the other shallow things in an American way and you will have it all! Sadly that's how Instagram works!
