The Durban man who handed himself over to police before confessing to masterminding two murders has walked free.It’s left the victims’ families fuming and demanding answers from authorities who released him due to a lack of evidence. eNCA’s senior reporter Dasen Thathiah investigates. #eNCA #DStv403
This is horrific, is there no justice even if someone confessed?
Maybe he withdrew the confession. If the police dont have enough concrete evidence, then a good lawyer can easily get someone off the hook. Plus bribes, blackmail and connections do the job as well.

I speculate that they dropped the charges because he chose to cooperate..

Every time I switch on sa news another person or gang gets away with literally murder. It’s a tragedy that a country has sunk so low. How many deaths now and what is being done.
Such a heartbreaking story. This hitmen must be found and face the full force of the law. I hope the victim's wife finds the strength to overcome this tragedy of seeing her husband murdered🙏🙏. Mastermind saying "it's not nice" I hope the killers he hired come for him too. This is sickening.

Did they even read him his rights coz if they didn't then his confession would be inadmissable(cannot be used as evidence) even if he confessed you need to prove the confession with evidence bcoz of the problem of false confessions.

@Zaahid Sader it's so much more complex than that. There are so many gangs and syndicates, including the numbers of gangs and drug cartles in Durban. Trust me, as someone who used to live in Durban in my younger years and would meet people through the nightlife. There are different gangs of every race and creed that just make Durban a pressure cooker, and there always have been. The police are infinitely out matched.
