There's a coal seam just above the pottery, although I'm not sure it was still productive in the 60s. The great scandal is the state the buildings have been allowed or encouraged to deteriorate to by the present owner. I think he has plans to build houses on the site.

heritage uk should buy the site of his pottery and preserve it.
