Dear Scottish Fairy ~ this video brought both tears to my eyes and made me smile. . . tears, when you confirmed you'd found your path and skipped while out on your walk; smiles, when I saw the twig stems in your amazing pumpkin breads -- I imagined your kind husband looking at your with appreciation for such a festive meal and teasing you, asking if the "twigs" were additional fiber! 😄 My initial path was changed suddenly, and unfortunately, by my father's sudden death a month after high school graduation. College was delayed and my many friends (at that time) found it difficult to relate to me. Normal, of course, and I understand it now but I was not ready to become an "adult" at barely 18. My parents had NO expectations of me but, oh my, I had planned to prove them wrong! "The best laid plans of mice and men!" Many decades later and having chosen a number of "paths less traveled," it was not without costs. I suspect many here have reaped benefits and paid prices; such is the journey of life, is it not?! GRATEFUL for most of it, as it cannot be changed. I wish you and our caring community a lovely autumn week! Tapadh leat 🙏

Gosh this reaches me on a day i cried in front of a picture of me as a baby and thought "poor little thing, you never stood a chance". But thank goodness for that, because not fitting in pushes us so much further than what was "expected" of us would have allowed for.

Hello dear Kerstin. Another beautiful walk in the woods. I particularly enjoyed the autumn colours of the trees and how the ferns cover the forest floor creating a warm autumnal landscape. Your filming is very good and captures light and colour very well. We must try to follow our own paths in life in order to find true happiness. It took me a very long time to achieve this especially being highly sensitive. I have always felt out of place within my family growing up and I was never a conformist. But now living quietly and enjoying the simple things in life gives me happiness and that is my path. It’s good that you have followed your own path which has led you to happiness in Scotland with your husband and your cosy cottage in such beautiful landscapes. Hello again our beautiful Scottish Fairy....Thank you for the wonderful, peaceful walk in the woods...along with the lovely musical accompaniment....It was such an analogy of taking the 'Road Less Traveled' and how you have found your joy and peace in a life of quietness and found such joy in Scotland and the beautiful area in which you now live. It takes much courage to find our own path especially when others expect us to follow their intention of what life should be. So many people today are caught up in the rush of life and all the expectations upon them and are living an unfulfilled and stressed existence. In welcher Richtung auch immer ich fühle mich in 8hm aufgehoben und Gluecklich... Wenn schwierige Situationen auftauchen loesse ich sie am einfachsten im Wald und erkenne den Sinn dahinter... Bin auch dabei mich von vielen Dingen zu lösen auch Familienmitglied er und Freunden die keine sind... I loved seeing you skipping on your path. I too have looked at a black and white picture of myself taken at my desk at school, and now think if only I could have changed things for that stressed little girl. My parents thought that they were doing the best thing, sending me to a private school, but I struggled due to being dyslexic, which they did not know about then. I just wanted to be out in nature and free, and I feel home education would have been the best thing for me, but I doubt many folk were doing that in the 60s and 70s? That is why I love being at home so much now I think, and have always preferred having folk come to me at home, or going to their homes. I love being out in nature, walking Madge, and am so lucky where I live that there are very few cars, and no traffic where my little house is. I went to work as a Nanny in Menorca in my early 20s, and was never homesick - I just loved doing my own thing, and being in control of what I was doing, not being controlled by someone else. I did get married, but was divorced after 18 years. That was 23 years ago now, and I am happier on my own, but it would be lovely to have some human company now and again. I have my Madge, and she gets me out for walks, but it is rare to see any other human being. I do enjoy being a recluse most of the time. I would rather that, than be living with someone who made me unhappy, or whom I made unhappy! Blessings to you from Jilly & Madge. xxx

Like you, I love being in nature, it just speaks to me and I feel secure and calm. Humans can confuse me a lot due to my HSP. I am so happy that you have Madge in your life - I do understand that you sometimes would like human company though. Maybe through other dog walkers? I could not agree more on your last sentence. Thank you for another insightful video. Can I share something with you.... I do not discard the pumpkin skin. The skins will soften and along with the rest of the pumpkin and add more fiber and nutrition to the soup. So there is so little waste of the pumpkin, makes it quicker and easier and it adds to the quantity of your soup. I look forward to your next video.🙂😘
The whole social expectations thing is ridiculous. Everyone is different. Why must everyone for the mold or feel bad for not fitting? I never had kids, never liked being married. Never followed the beaten path. Yes it is not easy, people will give you a hard time. Oh well.

A day on earth
Every day I see the world
I am forever amazed by its unending wonders
And all the beauty of everything around me
Each blade of grass, every pebbles, shoot and twigs
Drops of dew as diamonds in the morning sun
The fresh scent of renewed hope in the early breath
The promises of life awoken
Riches and abundance and rewards near
I am so very small - this world so big
Though I look and look I cannot see very far
But I can see I belong here
That I belong to here
The new day also brings hurdles and sorrow
Streams to cross, treacherous and menacing covers
I am just a solitary little mouse trotting along
In this immeasurable field I call home
And no matter the dangers and the threats
However unkind the weather and cold the nights
And the friends lost and the dark days
I am grateful for this ground I walk on
I am the life given to me
Like a voice needs a listener
And the dream a dreamer
This earth comes alive under my tiny little feet
I am bound to it as it is to me

But trusting and confident in this moment

I loved seeing you skipping on your path. I too have looked at a black and white picture of myself taken at my desk at school, and now think if only I could have changed things for that stressed little girl. My parents thought that they were doing the best thing, sending me to a private school, but I struggled due to being dyslexic, which they did not know about then. I just wanted to be out in nature and free, and I feel home education would have been the best thing for me, but I doubt many folk were doing that in the 60s and 70s? That is why I love being at home so much now I think, and have always preferred having folk come to me at home, or going to their homes. I love being out in nature, walking Madge, and am so lucky where I live that there are very few cars, and no traffic where my little house is. I went to work as a Nanny in Menorca in my early 20s, and was never homesick - I just loved doing my own thing, and being in control of what I was doing, not being controlled by someone else. I did get married, but was divorced after 18 years. That was 23 years ago now, and I am happier on my own, but it would be lovely to have some human company now and again. I have my Madge, and she gets me out for walks, but it is rare to see any other human being. I do enjoy being a recluse most of the time. I would rather that, than be living with someone who made me unhappy, or whom I made unhappy! Blessings to you from Jilly & Madge. xxx

I am sorry to read how you struggled in younger years. Like you, I love being in nature, it just speaks to me and I feel secure and calm. Humans can confuse me a lot due to my HSP.
I am so happy that you have Madge in your life - I do understand that you sometimes would like human company though. Maybe through other dog walkers?
I could not agree more on your last sentence. I'd rather be alone than with someone who makes me unhappy.

Thank you for another insightful video. Can I share something with you.... I do not discard the pumpkin skin. The skins will soften and along with the rest of the pumpkin and add more fiber and nutrition to the soup. So there is so little waste of the pumpkin, makes it quicker and easier and it adds to the quantity of your soup. I look forward to your next video.🙂😘

The whole social expectations thing is ridiculous. Everyone is different. Why must everyone for the mold or feel bad for not fitting? I never had kids, never liked being married. Never followed the beaten path. Yes it is not easy, people will give you a hard time. Oh well.
