+eric m Yes. I used Sola 500 video light for most of my footage. Wide angle on both cameras. Gopro Hero 3 - 60 fps, 1080p, no protune, WB auto, red filter. Gopro Hero 4 - 30 fps, 1080p, no protune, WB auto, red filter. Hope that helps.
+Greg DeWolfe I hope someday I'll be able to dive at Tunnels Beach. I went to Kauai in winter season and Tunnels is not accessible due to high surf and strong currents. All my dives are from south side of the island. Shore dives from Koloa Landing and two boat dives.
+Fabio Palma Thanks. I tried different settings and lighting was low with only 6 dives. GoPro Studio allows you add protune in post but my editing choice was Sony Vegas. Anyway - I learned some things about underwater recording on those trips.
We wanted to do that. There is never guarantee but when DM asked what we would like to see our response was "Sharks". They do know where to look for them. It is always exciting to see them underwater. Those are reef sharks. Not aggressive if you keep your distance.

+Thomas Carroll I used red filters for both of my GoPro's. It's a must. Especially if you do not use lights. If you do I suggest to buy filter that you can open and close underwater when you get close to some objects. They will get to much red color with strong light. It's always good to have that option.
+Thomas Carroll For GoPro Hero4 Black Edition I used Switchblade2.0 GoPro Hero4 Red filter/Macro lens Combo by Polar Pro Filters. On my GoPro Hero 3 BE I have simple red filter made of glass so you can flip. I also use SOLA 500 video light by Light & Motion. I do not know what is available on the market right now regarding filters and lights but that is what I have and what I could buy at the time I searched.
I'm a skydiver that tried scuba diving for the first time about aweek ago. I must say its like entering a brand new world. Very revealing experience. I did enjoy it. I won't pursue it as aggressively as I do skydiving, but whenever I am on vacation somewhere near a beach, I will scuba dive. Thanks and excellent video.
+jerellem Thanks. I'm also recreational diver who likes underwater videography. My diving is limited usually to vacation site but I like it and try to do it as much as possible. Hopefully this video inspires and encourages people to do it.
+Kau It is called "the crown of thorns starfish". Pretty cool. Moving very slow but you can see it's legs crawling on the rocks when you stop for a moment. Thank you for compliments.
CtoPSilly I do not think those words are necessary. I think you know video can be cropped. Plus I respect marine life and keep my distance. For my own safety. Closer shots are done with extension pole (Sea&Sea). I personally do not like when people touch stuff and totally undestand your agitation.

I think tunnels beach and Niihau would be my favorite.
You don’t need a license to Scuba diveOnly toget tanks refiilled. , at some shops. , r to board a diver boat.
It is safer to have knowledge before going into water. Would not try scuba without license and preparation.
