Wayne The QM screws are not really fit for purpose to hold the door on. One of mine stripped so I substituted with KM - slightly bigger head but same length and holds a lot better.....Tell the world as your door will fall off at the worst moment.
Wow....amazing (this also feels like something that could go on a resume if one would like to work at an auto factory since a car is literally being built) 😳😆
Pop that mystery piece in between the white metal part of the door and the frame when the door is open and the door will be propped open. it took me a while to figure that out on mine but it works fine
No. We tried that and ended up breaking some. Short of a minature hydraulic which would cost a fortune I am afraid the black bit of plastic is the best fix.
I know im a bit late but why dont you take a block of some sort (Plastic or wood) cut it down to size and place it under the door hydraulic when its open to keep it open?
@@WorldofWayneUK I haven't even began the build of the delorean yet (just watching certain videos of yours to buy spare parts and take notes). Did you find a solution in the end, to keep the doors up? Do you know what issue the bit of plastic/block that does that comes with? EDIT - Oh, so the black block (mystery piece) used to prop the doors open is supplied in this issue. Cool. I think lol Super cool videos mate.
Sorry for the long text. I am from Germany and we are at Issue 37. I couldn´t wait and bought all available Issues. After a lot of searching and waiting I got Issue 70 today. And what should I say? For the 4th time a part was incomplete !! The little black peace (hinch) is MISSING !! The quality of this model is very bad. I am glad that I saw your videos before !! I know that You had problems with the other door, so I will try that too. Thank You so much.
I have to add something to my post: 2 holes of that part where not drilled were they should be. AND, another hole was missing in the big frame. The door is now attached to the car/frame.
That issue with the door not staying open is true-to-life. The actual cars had a problem with the hydraulic not being big or strong enough to keep the doors up.
The mystery piece is Eaglemoss's door wedge, which is how you keep them open. Use the wedge to prop the door up. It's such a pathetic fix that Eaglemoss decided not to tell you what it was for.
I used some super glue for the hood works great

Love this comment as the same thing happened to me.
The QM screw is too long for the door strut hole. I found one KM in my parts pile and that did the trick!
Hi! How do you get the broken screw out of the hinge?
Pair of snipe nose pliers and patience
that black block is to keep the door open
I opted to wait till both doors were fully built to install them at the same time myself

Wonder why they didn't tell us lol
Hey Wayne,is there any way to pull the hydraulic door suspensions apart and adding more pressure so the doors stay up?.
No. We tried that and ended up breaking some. Short of a minature hydraulic which would cost a fortune I am afraid the black bit of plastic is the best fix.
i was thinking maybe a strong spring to put in but i dont think a spring that small would do much.
I know im a bit late but why dont you take a block of some sort (Plastic or wood) cut it down to size and place it under the door hydraulic when its open to keep it open?
They give you a bit of plastic to do that job later in the build

I'm just curious handling the steel have you noticed any tarnishing occur?
Not really no
Wow! The man cave surely has changed since then!!
It's like the Evolution of a Man Cave
Hi wayne got a question for you about R2D2 back in issue 7 there was a small part with the hinge has it ever been used or know what it is
Yep. It's for the lightsaber tube cover but it is not used as they provide another one later on

Cut down a small safety pin and use that to keep the door open, just a thought
looks good wayne my friend i know i didnt do this car but looks good this year right completed are you doing any more cars
Not sure yet. But hot off the press. I may have a bike coming 👍

Struts weren't the main support. Main support is a torsion rod (spring)
Don't forget to take the block out before you try and close the door.
Good point lol
It's a gas strut.
Hi, what about the terminator?
Its only on a test run at the moment and even that hasn't been released yet
The black peace is to hold the door open
Maybe the mistery black peace is to keep the door open.
Yep. That's exactly what is is used for.
my hinge came already broken
The hinges are god awful on this build. It is pot luck to get a good one.

Ahhhjh makes sense now lol
