Twilight, if you look at it from Bella's dad's point of view, is a horror movie. A parent's worst nightmare. He and his daughter moved back to his hometown, then a few days later his daughter starts dating some brooding rich guy who lives in a mansion outside of town. She won't talk about him much, but spends a LOT of time alone with him doing who knows what. Sometimes she comes home hurt (physically, emotionally, or both) but she always insists she's fine. Also, there's some sort of man-killing animal in the woods. Yep, the same woods where she spends lots of time alone with her boyfriend and sometimes his adopted family. And the worst part is he's powerless to help her with any of it. All he can do is wait and try to be a supportive place to land if she needs it. A headcanon I have for why Edward was so bad at lying to Bella was that since she's the only person whose thoughts he can't read, he's not able to predict her questions before she asks them, and not able to figure out what answers would satisfy her, the way he is able to with everyone else. So for the first time in 100 years he has to actually think on the spot. Idk if Stephenie Meyer actually did that as a deliberate choice but it's how I've always interpreted it.

I have always agreed with this headcanon. The books give you more conversation between the two of them on his perspective, along with what we got with midnight sun, we really see that he's hardcore struggling socially and has always used his powers to compensate. With Bella, she smells irresistible, he can't read her thoughts and she also just tends to think in odd patterns compared to what he's used to. This combination gives you at least a good frame of behavior for why he acts like a cold dick sometimes, not excusable with the gaslighting etc but makes sense.

Once you've seen all the movies, you need to watch the Twilight Honest Trailers hahaha. - Tyler was going too fast coming into the parking lot and skidded on the ice (Bella slipped on ice just a few minutes earlier, foreshadowing this part). - Edward's deliberately being a dick in the beginning because he's trying to protect her by keeping her away from him. - The vampires CAN eat to keep up appearances, but the texture and taste of all human foods are revolting to them and they can't digest it, so they end up having to regurgitate it later. - Nah, he didn't hear her think "Follow me" or whatever, it was established he CAN'T hear her thoughts. - Fortunately, vampires don't sleep, so he wouldn't wake up in the middle of the night not thinking straight and end up attacking her. There are plenty of other ways he could accidentally hurt her, but that scenario isn't one of them lol. - "Ditch Edward and go for Carlisle." LMAO, Bella the homewrecker 🤣🤣🤣 - Carlisle, unlike the rest of his family, has never lost control and killed - or even FED on - a human. He truly does have a heart of gold
Just so you guys know, I don’t think Bella was trying to have a whole “I’m not like other girls” moment at the dress shop. She only asked to go with her friends specifically because they were going to a town that had a book on the werewolf legends that Jacob was telling her about. Her whole point in going with her friends was to go to the bookstore, and at the time, she really wasn’t planning on going to prom, which is why she wasn’t trying on dresses.
In the books there are definitely more interactions between them where they like learn about each other and actually banter and stuff. And she also takes longer to find out what he is and decides that she still wants to know him after finding out he’s a vamp even before the girls go dress shopping. So when he saves her she’s already decided it doesn’t matter and they spend the “date” with her asking questions.
I think everyone agrees Charlie is the best character. Really liked the additions to this reaction, perfect for Twilight 😁 P.S the dent on her van: I think people just assumed her head hit it.

New Moon is my favorite twilight movie. It's also (imo) the most beautifully shot and crafted twilight movie. The soundtrack with Alexandre Desplat is also a HUGE reason why! Not to mention, I feel that New Moon is the only movie that has our main cast in legitimate danger (The Volturi), and there's nothing they can do about it. I can't wait for your reactions!!!
@@uggggggghhhhh Yes! The soundtrack and cinematography for this series are top tier. What is it with vampire stuff and amazing soundtracks? TVD also has an AMAZING soundtrack.
I love the 4 of you filming together like this. Also the look on the girls face every time they see a new Cullen is hilarious. Never read the books but my mom did. I remember loving the movies as a kid and I had them all on DVD. Looking back at it the acting isnt the best and Edward is lowkey pretty weird but I still adore the movies
It's hilarious to see how different generations react to this movie 😅🤣 I was 12 when this movie came out, so the Twilight mania caught me at the perfect moment for me to become obsessed with it. It was a serious thing! The dramatic moments were just so deep and the male characters were *soooo dreamy*. I guess as I grew up I started noticing the questionable attitudes portrayed and now I enjoy this as a campy funny thing, but it's fascinating how first-time watchers in 2022 see this saga as a funny almost meme-y thing.
I was also 12 when the first movie came out (I was Team Edward at the time). I and every single girl in my class were caught in the Twilight mania. One girl even carried one of the books with her everywhere. I remember when we watched the movie during class when it was released on DVD (felt so sorry for all the guys in class though 😂). But man. I started to grow disinterest by New Moon because I thought everything became more dull and boring. By the time I was 15, I tuned out of the series entirely. 😂
@@galaxy_kitten95 omg I'm embarrassed to admit how deep I was into the fandom lmaooo all the posters, all the magazines, online discussions... 😅😅 I remember sneakily reading Breaking Dawn because my mother wouldn't let me, she thought it wasn't appropriate for a 13-year-old (which, honestly, fair enough). I was team Jacob for a while and then by Eclipse I became team Seth. Not for Bella, I just think he's one of the only few decent male characters in the whole story (along with King Charlie and King Carlisle hahaha). By age 15 I was on tumblr and actively hated on Twilight 😬 Now I just enjoy its ridiculousness and try to tune out the problematic parts. I guess I'm old enough to recognise them as such, I don't know if I'd want a 12/13 year old to watch them, lest they really do consider their love story the epitome of romance.
I'm 23 and just watched the saga (I'd seen the first one before in High School, but none of the others), and I didn't see it as a comedy at all. I took it very seriously, and enjoyed them all. Yeah, there are some questionable or cringey things interspersed, but on the whole it was just an enjoyable story.
These movies were always funny. I was 9 for this one, and I knew how stupid they were. Has nothing to do with “different generations” or “first-time watchers”.
I love that Stella is rooting for Carlisle the whole time. I watched these all with my sister years ago and Carlisle was the only character I cared about lol.
this was literally so entertaining, so many of your reactions had me ACTUALLY laughing out loud!!! i adored this format for this gem of a film, and i cannot WAITTT to see your reaction to the later films in the series!!!
Yes! In the books Edward's "shine" looks like he's on fire. The book is pretty funny actually, they don't take themselves as seriously as in the movies 😁
This is one of the best Twilight reactions ever. Can't believe you got to 100k subs w/o doing it. Good on you. lol I really appreciate you pointing out all the red flags, creepy moments, off behaviors that too many mis-read as romantic.
These were so good growing up but they are a lot more cringey watching now but it's fun to watch. Absolutely want to see all the twilight reactions, love you all!!
Great reaction vid! I think what everyone forgets about the first Twilight film is that it was a low-budget movie and was intended to be like an indie-like film. There were clear aesthetic choices made by the creators and its “campiness” was actually intentional in some sort of way. It also has an amazing soundtrack for that time. Of all the Twilight movies, it has the most unique vibe. No one really thought it would be a box-office success. And the succeeding films got bigger and bigger budgets and less and less “artistic”.
Welcome to the club! The first time you watch it it's ironic, the second time you watch it it's cuz you want to show somebody and laugh together the third time you watch it you realize you love it and then you find yourself reading it 🤣 LOL
I love that you called it the worst movie kiss because if I’m not mistaken twilight won best on screen kiss like twice in teen choice or mtv awards lmao
Liked the group reaction for this! The reason why the story was so popular is because back then it was indeed a new kind of Romeo and Juliet love story idea, and although the movie does a bad job showing it, the books do their job very well at representing complete infatuation. I read them when I was 13 and Edward was like the perfect boyfriend anyone could want (again: books). Ofc looking at it now as an adult Edward is still toxic in some ways. The first movie isn't very good storytelling wise, but I like the rest of them a lot more. Especially because I'll forever be Team Jacob (and team Carlisle) :D
The books also show a little more explanation on Edwards actions. His hot and cold and some of his weird lines. Its still cringy, but its more thought out campy cringe. More in line with the standard romance novel.
14:44 she was trying to figure out the vampire and werewolf stuff it has nothing to do with "I'm not like other girls" She asked to come with them purely for the bookstore because it was in the same area.
This was so fun!!! I can't even tell you how much I love these movies: the cheese, the drama! It's melancholic and gloomy. So nostalgic for me, I think I was 11/12 when all this was happening. Please tell me the girls are coming back for the rest of the series!! Cmon, youve gotta finish it now! Much love ❤🔥
I enjoyed the books so much more. And reading "Midnight Sun" really adds to it. Midnight Sun is this first book Twilight being from Edward's point of view and it really opens up Edward's mind. Much more entertaining coming from his point of view because he's able read everyone (except Bella's) mind. So I enjoyed it more. I enjoyed the movies more as they went along.
and the scene in the film where they are laying in the field together was actually the inspiration for Stephanie Meyer because that scene was in her dream.
Fun little "easter egg": Emmett in the cafeteria scene in the movie, he's carrying like a bag of eggs, in the movie, we hear the Cullens say that Bella coming over finally gives them an excuse to use the kitchen, so was Emmett just carrying around a baggy of raw eggs? Also after you're done reacting to the Twilight series maybe you can do a reaction to the spoof aka Vampires Suck, or maybe even another vampire movie that I love called Vampire Academy, it's super underrated and based on a book series as well, the show is good but it's a lot.
The lore while being so weird I always found ridiculously interesting cuz of the one line where Edward says "everything about me is designed to invite you in", the sparkling, the smell, the voice, he's supposed to unattainably perfect looking to lure his victims in. Carlisle was obviously the better choice...and tbh Charlie carried the entirety of this series on his back
I was honestly never into the books or movies but I watched them with my aunt because her husband and sons refused to watch them lol. They're not that bad but there's a lot of creepiness involved. I prefer the "Interview with the Vampire" and "Queen of the Damned" Anne Rice kind of vampires personally. 🖤
I love your discussions about how uncomfortable it is at times 😂. It is so awkward between Edward and Bella most of the time. But yes, Charlie is a great dad. And I like the vampire family.
I was going to eat my dinner while watching this but I had to abandon my food because I kept choking - hands down funniest reaction you've done. The Twilight franchise seems bad and cringy if you take it too seriously but if you watch it as a comedy (and a guidebook for relationship red flags) then it perfect - I can't wait for the rest!
Carlisle is by far the best of them. In the books all of them don't eat people, but he is the only one who does that because he cares about humans, the rest kind of don't care so much. They see "slipping up" as no big deal and basically inevitable. Carlisle is the only one who thinks murder is abhorrent.
Charlie is the best dad honestly! and I love Twilight, it's nostalgic, the filter on the first movie and the aesthetic is my favorite, and it's funny as hell
This is an amazing vampire movie no doubt. Just fun and very good music!! the blue filter and the telenovela acting just works. Bella's depression is also a big deal with how you can perceive her story with both dudes.
So I feel like I was the only one on Team Edward SOLELY because she ends up with him. I remember someone had the argument of “Team Edward in the books, Team Jacob in the movies” and now I finally understand that that’s because it’s harder to miss Edward’s red flags in the movies. But in my mind, Jacob was only favorable in Twilight.
Well, it is explained that vampires only love one person in their life, so if their partner is killed they will be very grudge against the one who killed them. And imagine living hundreds of years without a partner because they will never love someone again. That's why I'm team edward lol
Jennifer Lawrence, Emily Browning, Michelle Trachtenberg, Sara Paxton, and Lily Collins were considered for Bella Dave Franco, Henry Cavill, Shiloh Fernandez, Dustin Milligan, Ben Barnes, Jackson Rathbone, and Scott Eastwood were considered for Edward. John C. Reilly and Vince Vaughn were considered for Charlie Swan.
LMFAO "yeah, play it off as your dad, we know its just you, Jacob." 41:03 I ACTUALLY NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THAT IM CRYINGGG. Imagine Jacob making it up bc hes jealous lmaoo this is now canon in my head
Actually Charlie (Bella's dad) is my favorite character from the movies (also one of my fave from the books). He is literally always trying his best and he is such a great dad.

- "Ditch Edward and go for Carlisle." LMAO, Bella the homewrecker 🤣🤣🤣
- Carlisle, unlike the rest of his family, has never lost control and killed - or even FED on - a human. He truly does have a heart of gold
The ice thing i never really connected that! Thanks!!
interesting!!! i’m also watching these movies for the first time lol
Just so you guys know, I don’t think Bella was trying to have a whole “I’m not like other girls” moment at the dress shop. She only asked to go with her friends specifically because they were going to a town that had a book on the werewolf legends that Jacob was telling her about. Her whole point in going with her friends was to go to the bookstore, and at the time, she really wasn’t planning on going to prom, which is why she wasn’t trying on dresses.
now I'm gonna need you to watch the whole saga with the girls!! this was waaay too fun
Ok great!!!
James: That was kind of cool actually
Everyone else, judging: Was it?
😂
The way most of y’all dropped your jaws when Carlisle showed up, i mean.. same
Right?
The song that’s playing when Bella is dying is sung by Robert Pattinson
And he really plays the piano and composed that song for the movie. He’s extremely talented.
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart came a long way since their infamous TWILIGHT days
Pattinson is really good as young Salvador Dali in "Little Ashes".
Turns out they have a go at it while on Twillight Effect. These actors and actresses really are down to earth. It's crazy cool!
I think everyone agrees Charlie is the best character.
Really liked the additions to this reaction, perfect for Twilight 😁
P.S the dent on her van: I think people just assumed her head hit it.
For sure! He was the only character that felt “human” and I wasn’t laughing hysterically at.
LMFAO her thick ass skull stopped a van and dented it im dead
in the books rosalie takes care of that haha the books are another WILD ride
alice is the best character
we need more twilight and more of y’all together! this was such a fun reaction 😊
I honestly like most of the other characters more than Edward and Bella. Charlie is amazing and I love most of the Cullens.
Moustache Dad is best character ever! 🤩
Loved Charlie.. until he thought it was funny when his daughter broke her hand defending herself from sexual harassment! Not saying who because #spoilers, but it annoys me when no one seems to see that as a bad thing.
The girls simultanous faces at 9:10 when Carlisle walks in are priceless - love it!
More group reactions to campy movies please. It's pure entertainment
What mvoeis would you suggest?
@@whitenoisereacts mayhap the last Avatar movie? Its crappy but fun for commentary
@@whitenoisereacts Campy movie suggestion for group reacts: Batman & Robin (1997) with Arnold Schwarzenegger haha OR comedies from the 2000s like 'Meet the parents' or 'There's Something About Mary.' I'm sure there are a ton of cringe movies out there though. Twilight is definitely up there. Loving the reaction guys :)
You guys should continue the twilight series I’m interested to see a girls commentary along with yours you know kinda male/female perspective
@@whitenoisereacts the birds of prey and Harley Quinn
New Moon is my favorite twilight movie. It's also (imo) the most beautifully shot and crafted twilight movie. The soundtrack with Alexandre Desplat is also a HUGE reason why!
Not to mention, I feel that New Moon is the only movie that has our main cast in legitimate danger (The Volturi), and there's nothing they can do about it. I can't wait for your reactions!!!
New Moon soundtrack defined an entire generation. It is legendary idc what anyone says, the soundtrack for this series is top tier
"jacob seems more normal" lmao you sweet, innocent children
It's hilarious to see how different generations react to this movie 😅🤣
I was 12 when this movie came out, so the Twilight mania caught me at the perfect moment for me to become obsessed with it.
@@SnailHatan And I was 23 in 2023 (mostly) watching them for the first time, and was able to take them seriously...
I love that Stella is rooting for Carlisle the whole time. I watched these all with my sister years ago and Carlisle was the only character I cared about lol.
My favorite two characters in this movie are fathers. Carlisle is just so great and Charlie is like really good but kinda awkward dad.
this was literally so entertaining, so many of your reactions had me ACTUALLY laughing out loud!!! i adored this format for this gem of a film, and i cannot WAITTT to see your reaction to the later films in the series!!!
Carlisle enters the room
Jaws dropped at the same moment ☠️
Thanks!!! Stick around!! We’ll do more
Twilight is my guilty pleasure HAHAH. Everytime I get sick, or need a comfort movie etc etc I'll chuck twilight on or go back to the books HAHA
Yeah I mean, it’s funny lol
These were so good growing up but they are a lot more cringey watching now but it's fun to watch. Absolutely want to see all the twilight reactions, love you all!!
Oh, group reaction yay- WAIT, DID NINETAILEDBRUSH JUST SAY HIS ACTUAL NAME??!!!!!
James’ startled jumps with every single time Edward talks, walks away, stares... just hilarious.
“I forgot Anna kendrick was in this movie” lmao 😂 don’t feel to bad, Anna Kendrick forgot Anna Kendrick was in this movie 😅
I actually rewatch these films fairly often, because I think they are great comedies and a fun way to relax.
Literally like their reaction was so odd lol.
Charlie getting the love and recognition he deserves 🤧💘
Hillywood Twilight Parodies are Awesome!!
Queen of the Damned is just a nostalgia vampire masterpiece 😭🖤 and the soundtrack is just the best!!
@@cotevallejos7230 So true! I always loved the music and Aaliyah is awesome in it. 🖤
Yes, now those are real vampires.
Love her stories, dislike her as a person (from what I know)
@@wombat4583 I think it's okay to separate the "art from the artist." I feel that way about certain people too as I've learned more over the years.
Charlie (Bella's dad) and Carlisle are the best characters in this whole franchise!
Watching Stella fall in love silently with Carlisle at 9:10 is my favorite moment and also the moment I fell in love with Stella
I love your discussions about how uncomfortable it is at times 😂. It is so awkward between Edward and Bella most of the time. But yes, Charlie is a great dad. And I like the vampire family.
Their reaction when they saw Daddy Cullen for the first time 🤣🤣❤️ priceless
I was going to eat my dinner while watching this but I had to abandon my food because I kept choking - hands down funniest reaction you've done. The Twilight franchise seems bad and cringy if you take it too seriously but if you watch it as a comedy (and a guidebook for relationship red flags) then it perfect - I can't wait for the rest!
I loved rewatching this movie though with the 4 of you laughing the entire way through!! It was SUPER entertaining to watch for me!!!
The first one isn't that bad. It's corny but not bad. And I'll stand by that
Carlisle walks in, both girls: 👁🫦👁
9:09 the way their jaws dropped when Carlisle came in HAHSHJSHAJA
Awesome group reaction! Really fun to watch :) you managed to make twilight bearable 😂
Every time, EVERY SINGLE TIME I completely forget how cringy this movie is and how much I love it 😂❤️
Carlisle is by far the best of them. In the books all of them don't eat people, but he is the only one who does that because he cares about humans, the rest kind of don't care so much. They see "slipping up" as no big deal and basically inevitable. Carlisle is the only one who thinks murder is abhorrent.
I genuinely love the rest of the cullen family. They are so funny.
Charlie is the best dad honestly! and I love Twilight, it's nostalgic, the filter on the first movie and the aesthetic is my favorite, and it's funny as hell
Finally, was wondering when you were going to start. It's way past my bedtime, so I really look forward to watching it tomorrow! Excited! 😂
Ok cool!!!
When Hayley and Stella's jaw just drop at the same time when Carlisle came in. Like same 🤚🤣🤭
This is an amazing vampire movie no doubt.
Interesting how no one else ever yells out “SEGA!!” when Edward tells Bella, ‘Say it.’?!?? (Or maybe that was before your time)🤣🎮😂
Well, it is explained that vampires only love one person in their life, so if their partner is killed they will be very grudge against the one who killed them. And imagine living hundreds of years without a partner because they will never love someone again. That's why I'm team edward lol
I wish that had been explained! That actually makes a lot more sense
Jennifer Lawrence, Emily Browning, Michelle Trachtenberg, Sara Paxton, and Lily Collins were considered for Bella
Dave Franco, Henry Cavill, Shiloh Fernandez, Dustin Milligan, Ben Barnes, Jackson Rathbone, and Scott Eastwood were considered for Edward.
I Loved this reaction... You guys should do more reactions like this...I feel like James makes fun of these movies on camera but off camera he is obsessed with these movies 😂😂😂
Noooo….well maybe?
I never thought that you were going to react to this saga!! I'm so excited to see your reaction for this and the next movies
This is the definition of "a product of the times". The Tumblr filter, the "I'm not like other girls" + "the bad guy" tropes, the rainy mood all the time
Stella and Hailey are such amazing additions to the reactions so far, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Looking forward to seeing more with all of you in the future!
Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen) made a podcast on RUclips about her days in twilight and has on some really cool behind the scenes guests like Catherine Hardwicke the director of Twilight who gives some insight on how everything came to be and delves into the stylistic, music and camera decisions for the first movie. It might be a cool thing to checkout
Amazing Pod Cast!!
Hahahaha
“Can you imagine if this was all just a big misunderstanding?” Now that movie I would LOVE to see. Picture the scene where she says he’s a vampire, but he’s like, “Wait, what?? No…?” 😂🤣🤣
Anyone remember when Harry Potter vs Twilight was a big deal?
Oh no…
That was a thing?
Bro that famous meme of Cedric dying to become a vampire, I still remember it
@@breezy3392 Oh yes, there were debates, fan made songs about it, essays, and videos you can look up on RUclips.
I honestly think you guys are gonna enjoy the rest of the series, there's some really good scenes spread throughout the films that I think you'll like! Very exciting to see the rest!
We need this crew for all the movies because this is the best movie to watch with friends
“Did she just complain about steak and cobbler??” 😂
What a fun group! Making me feel old though for remembering seeing all these in theatre. Also we stan Charlie Swan for real! Lol

Ok cool!!!
@@whitenoisereacts Okay... I've been watching for a while now, and you are all really good, not just the jokes, but the chit chat IS actually quite good... like "...asia, europe, africa... Always found it weird how obsessed this 100 year old man was over a 17 year old lol
For sure!!!
Well, to be fair, he stopped aging at 17. Including his brain. Sure he may pick up a more mature presentation over the years. But, he isn't 100 mentally, so of course he'd be into someone her age. It wouldn't make sense for him to be into "older" women cause he's not there mentally.
@@moonlitskylight5740 There are so many times when Edward refers to people Bella's age as children.
It's because they are destined TO BE.
Right? That makes it so creepy.
This was part of my personality back in middle school when it came out, the soundtrack is so comforting, and the whole thing has a special feel of nostalgia, yeah they’re cringy but it’s part of the fun and it’s not all bad
Oh my gawd this reaction was hilarious!! I have been hoping you would all react together and this was so good!
