Amazing job. Liked the improvised arch support, simple and foolproof, nothing to knock out the way. Nice to see some old stocks with frogs, those bricks look like they will last forever and just get better with age. Lastly didn't think I'd ever be lucky enough to see the art of slate wedging. And you finished by 5pm. The pointing above has to be left for another day. Great job.

    Quality job as always mate.
It reminds me of my first ever private job, I had a doorway to brick in, being a little bit inexperienced at the time I came unstuck when it came to laying the bricks because as like in this video it didnt work bricks.
I spent ages toothing out, stuck a mix in, got my lines set up and started laying bricks from left to right and realised that It had a closure in it! Absolutely sole destroying.
But being the bricklayer I am I did the right thing by toothing out a bit further and introduced a couple of 3quarters.
It didnt look too bad in the end.
Cost me more money and time than I intended but I was never ever going to put that closure in it.

Another great video. How did you find working with those bricks. Lovely brick once They’re laid. But in hot weather there an absolute nightmare. Soon as you lay them the motor is going off they suck water. Leave them in the spring and had them sat in a wheelbarrow full of water. They were that bad

Hi guys, I have a question. Can 5 or 6 courses of bricks in the middle of a flank be removed and replaced successfully? I live in a new build and the consistency of joints in brick work over those 5 courses is poor and the builder has given me the option of having it replaced but at the same time are trying to put me off because of how the new mortar won't match the existing!
