  • The fourth in my Amerika Bomber Series, the He 277 was a really impressive airplane with a very troubled pedigree! Could its faults be fixed in time so it could bomb the United States?

It remarkable how often command aspirations fly off in different directions. Thanks again Brian.
    Best Wishes to everyone.

    That's a Ju88A with Jumo 211 engines. The BMW engines doesn't appear much before the Ju88G-1. IIRC there was 1 Ju88C-3 and 4 Ju88C-5.

@A.G.798 please watch again, and you will see when our presenter talks about the BMW engine, the picture of a Ju88A powered by a pair of Jumo 211 engines. Your apologies have been accepted.

@@neiloflongbeck5705 Correct, the exhausts make it clear that this is the inverted V Jumo 211 and not the BMW radial.

So a four engine version of the He 177, then. Here's hoping that IL2 1946 "SAS" modification group creates a model of the 277--and why not, they created the Me 264 as a flyable model.

Thanks for the video history! German plane manufacture reminds me of the 3 Stooges. Lol, the Buzzard. Make believe planes.

Did you know that, if your intro is played at 2x speed, it sounds even more jaunty and fun?

I wonder if we double the speed again if the jauntiness level will also double? I'm going to apply to the governement for a grant to study the question.

Why they didn't just put the engines back-to-back, run 4 Props, 2 in front of the wing, 2 behind, and put this critter on Tricycle Landing gear? Wing-root in-take radiators could have cooled the 'pusher' engines, and Torque from the Props easily eliminated! Oh, wait, Dornier wasn't involved, and Ego interfered. Very German, that...
