    I have a 3 yo golden. He is a field line and naturally behaves much like your pups in your videos. I’m wondering if he might do well hunting like this without too much training. Does that seem plausible?

      @flushemndustem  Год назад +2

      That’s a great question. I would recommend ensuring he is ok with gun fire and then also working steadiness and retrieves. You could dive deep into training but if you just want him to pick up birds I’d start with the above mentioned.
      Thank you for the question!

    Lola looked like she did great. This season was my first time getting to take my two goldens out for their first hunt!

      Yeah she did a good job! Murph did as well just didn’t have the camera rolling.
      That is exciting! How did they do?

      They did great both got a chance to bring hunt up some birds and bring them back to hand. I could have asked for more :)

    Do both Lola and Murphy “point”? Where did you get them?

    • @flushemndustem
      @flushemndustem  Год назад +1

      They are a flushing breed - they may “point” with very tight holding birds but not something they do a lot

      @@flushemndustem I should have given more context. 🙂 I’m a golden guy, too, and up in MN. I’ve been without a hunting partner for a few years and I’m starting to look at/talk to breeders. Lola’s pause caught my eye and I’m curious who bred them.

      @@mfrigaard17 ahh no worries!
      Goldens would work perfectly up in Minnesota!! You do upland and waterfowl? The breeder I got them from no longer breeds unfortunately.
      If I was going to get a golden now I would do bayou Gundogs, thunderstruck or windmill farms goldens

      @@flushemndustem my family has always had Goldens. The sire of my childhood dog was a Sungold, my cousin’s current dog is out of Thistle Rocks, and the dam of my last dog was a Webshire girl. I really just hunt l upland. Pheasants and grouse. The golden I had was hard running, athletic, and probably too much drive. Great pheasant dog but too big of an engine for grouse and didn’t have much of an off switch. I’ll be looking for a little less horsepower this time around and for a closer working dog.

    Bacon not cooked good enough and not enough cream cheese. Worst popper ever seen made.
