0:42 - The Disney guy is so happy here that he found someone talented enough to be able to pick up where he left off without missing any time cues. Disney really needs to put another piano there so that guests can have a dueling piano session with the Disney piano player.
Yes! Having a second piano there would be quite fun! 💗 I'd love to see a 1950s Baldwin Hamilton upright there - I absolutely *LOVE* the sound of those pianos from that era, especially for faster-paced, upbeat / happy / etc. music, like some ragtime, pop, and others. :) I'd especially love to hear Kristen play songs like Peacherine Rag and Pineapple Rag on one of those. 😊 (I haven't been to Disneyland yet even though I'm 40 and live just east of San Diego, but I hope to go someday, would love to try playing some music with Kristen!) Also I had an idea for a song for her to try -- The Entertainer ... but (Kristen if you read this don't stop here lol) with a twist -- instead of going into the actual song after the intro (or maybe play the first couple notes or so), you switch to a certain song that was released July 27, 1987, has the line "we've known each other for so long" to start the 2nd verse, and is by a certain British singer born in February 1966. 😄
This is awesome. One of the coolest RUclips videos I have ever seen. For a music student, especially one who loves the piano, this video was really fun.
The enjoyment people get watching a person play piano is high, but it's amazing how that audience enjoyment grows exponentially when four hands are on a piano
Krista when you're practicing at home are you always just wondering how you can destroy the competition during your next visit to Disneyland? Cause that's what I'd be doing lol
Wow. this is amazing. i've never been good at improving piano. i'm self taught, and can really only read sheet music. watching you just mess around 1: impresses the hell out of me, 2: makes me super jealous, 3: i just sat down and tried copying a few of the things you did, and it's really rough, but better than almost any improvisation I've ever done, so thanks. I think if I can keep messing around like that, i might one day be able to truly improv. So thank you very much for giving me some lessons, even if this video wasn't intended for that!
That's is so cool, I always wanted to be able to sit down at a piano and just blow people away. I'm a big Disney fan too. My son works for the Disney studio's in Burbank so I get to go a lot. Well more than most people. You're very good. I love this kind of stuff. Thank you!!!
Kristen, it makes no difference whether you've had no time to practice, lots of time to rehearse, or anything in between...you're still an awesome pianist! (Thanks for posting this video!)
In about 1972 there was a movie called The Sting that used The Entertainer as it's theme song and at that time almost *nobody knew* that it was its own music and not written specifically for that movie.
The guy with the cap has a real touch to his playing that most good (even professional) piano players try to have but don't. He is one very good player!!!!!!
I used to work that food court summers as a teenager. Some of the pianists would let others play, but would just stand there until you finished. That guy didn't appear threatened at all and was genuinely excited to have you play with him.
I'm still practicing my stride Kristen, but, you got me beat by a long shot! your beauty and talent is way off the chart. There is no one better at Ragtime then Kristen Mosca! If I ever get your way, I would love to play with you! By the way, I passed right by Mosca's restaurant on Hwy. 90 in Jefferson Parish - West Bank New Orleans, a couple of days ago. They were packed - full house. However, the first thought that came to mind," Kristen Mosca on the piano! God luck girl! Peter
Great job, you guys!!! Fantastic stuff and so much fun!! Kristen have you tried your hand at Boogie Woogie or Stride Piano? It sounds great, looks challenging to play, and would add to your already great Rag repertoire... Fats Waller, Willie "The Lion" Smith and James P. Johnson made it look easy, but it's some amazing piano sound. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!
Thinking the same. Had opportunity to watch Stephanie Trick and her husband live last month and thinking Kristen can do that being lefty and all. This is great to see you run into a Disney Legend and hang out jamming it out.
Oh my gosh! I know this is.. really late lol, but I was wondering what was the song at 2:28 haha, I'm from Australia, and hopefully, (fingers crossed), I'll be going to Disneyland next year! I'm like... A really huge fanboy of your covers lol, and I've learnt all the songs that you've played, besides that one at 2:28! 😬😬 (I know lol I'm sorry, your covers are like.. really good okay?) *Excluding Maple Leaf ofc lol, I had to get that from somewhere else a while back 😂* I might even recreate this whole thing when I go to Disneyland lol... IT LOOKS SO FUN! 🧡🧡 Thank you so very much :)) - Sam (I'm praying it's in a C Major rip)

That would make sense.
old guy with the baseball hat has a really precise and deliberate touch.
Agree completely, I was amazed how fast his skinny arms were hammering the keys
That's Johnny Hodges who used to play for Disney at Coke Corner.
He has an almost Baloo-like persona sitting at that piano.
@@JeffRyman69 I thought Johnny Hodges played sax in Ellington's band.
@@michaelsommers2356 That was Cornelius "Johnny" Hodges according to Wikipedia.
ugh i love humans sometimes! what a talented group of people just shredding that piano!!!
I live near coke corner. Not the same kind though I don’t think...
Comment of the year!
@@okonh0wp Great name
Lol!!!
😱 😆 😝
I used to work near a coke corner. Not the kind of place you’d want to go after dark, or even in daylight, really.
The first thing that came into my mind at 0:20 is that he was thinking, "I better jump in here or I'm gonna lose my job to this girl." lol
Imagine his boss watching them perform 😅
I love how you played in turns with the pianist and how excited he got about it :D
Classic ragtime at Disney, top quality!
I absolutely love watching her perform! She is so extremely talented! Beautiful
wow this just became my favorite channel, 10 minutes after I found it
Ahhh!! ❤️❤️
Fun, fun, fun😀😀😀 all the way. Just what ragtime should be! Big thanks to all involved.
That other old dude wss killin it!!!!!
Lmao @1:28 the dude dancing in the background inside the store

Well done! I love the piano relay with Noel !! The guy in the gray shirt was really good too!! Keep up the great work!
I like how you play!!! Especially "You've got a friend in me" :)
this made me smile the whole video. such talent
I like that little slip up at :51 seconds because it proves that this is not a player piano and it is genuine pure talent.
You Both made my DAY !!!! Thank You Masters !!!!

Nice one, Kristen! Pretty sneaky with that 'player change'! ;) I'm currently practicing 'Something Doing'.
Great just watching nice people enjoying their talent and sharing it with those of us who haven’t it.
Cool video. That looks like so much fun being able to play at Coke Corner. Nice playing as always!

I spent years looking for the 2.24 song, my mom sang it to me when I was a child. It was so special so hear it again, you made me so happy :)

Great playing ^_^ I really enjoyed the Cantina theme cover
Wait, was that The Entertainer we heard on your channel? Have you had a change of heart? Now you need to do a video of you playing it! 😁
Omg we need more cantina theme
