I’m a woman so you might not like me offering an opinion but I will anyway. For men formally dressed in suits or suit separates, no matter how hot the weather is; socks are a must. The No sock look is gross! I like to see a man who has taken the time to make sure his socks look good and well matched to his clothes.

I generally don’t wear socks in the summer. I typically wear nylon Reebok classic sneakers, Adidas i5923 sneakers, and Nike Challenger sneakers with flat fronted RL shorts, and RL polo shirts. I hate no show socks and I hate sandals and flip flops. Loafers really aren’t comfortable for me. The only time I wear socks is when I’m running or playing tennis. Then I wear mid calf length Nike elite socks or RL socks. I might also wear them if I want to sport my Nike Air Force 1 sneakers. Those shoes don’t work well sockless. My partner and I are both marathon runners and can attest to your sockless running shoes story. The only time we might run sockless is when competing in a triathlon. You’re spot on about not wearing dress shoes sockless. I don’t do it for the reasons you mentioned but also because my feet are a few shades whiter than my legs.

Antonio, Great and timely video 👌. I purchased a pair of Sperry's and was running errands without socks and at two points on my right foot, I had serious chaffing from the casual pair. Thus, I knew I couldn't ever wear that pair unless I wore at least a no-show pair of socks🧦.
I love wearing over the calf socks. I wear them when I am dressing comfortable in my athletic sporty outfits. I’ll wear a pair of cargo shorts, polo slides, A polyester long sleeve shirt (under armor type) and a basketball jersey over top. It looks like a basketball player or a baseball player. Love wearing fun type socks as well
Socks every day of the year! I rarely wear shorts outside, mainly jeans. Because I don't have car yet and taxi is too expencive for me, I walk a lot. That's why, when I dress casually, I wear socks that are a little thicker, than someone who drives a car would wear in certain weather. It works for me, because even if my feet might sweat a little more, socks prevent most of the bacteria sticking to my feet or my shoes. It also provides a nice layer of protection, because where I live, in Tbilisi, sidewalks are not perfect and sometimes I take shortcuts where there is no asphalt at all

The bare ankle look with suit is ridiculous. I think men think it’s cool but women probably mostly think it looks stupid. Having your ankles bare isn’t really going to make you feel much cooler.

RB we’re pretty much all wearing socks I think. In the summer it looks like I never do, but you just can’t see them. I have very low no shows for my loafers, and slightly higher no shows that I wear with sneakers. They all remain hidden.

Surely, just be careful you’re not wearing shorts it could look a little nerdy. Some polos have a longer hem in the back than they do in the front these polos look better tucked in.
I have tried 2 name brand no show socks, Boombas and Kane 11 and am very disappointed as they do stay up as advertised. Only had 2 possible choices with them large and x-large and neither would stay in place on my heels. Any suggestions on other brands that may be better.
I feel like the no show sock thing has gotten out of hand. I don't mind it at all with shorts and a light pants/light shoes combo in warmer weather but I've seen way too many people are wearing a dark suit with black shoes and then their veiny, bony, wrinkly ankles sticking out like a sore thumb. And it's even more ridiculous when I see it in the fall/winter in rain and snow.

A no-look sock is important for men who want that look with their loafers, boat shoes (great!) and dress shoes (yuck....) during hot weather. Don't underestimate the amount of perspiration that can come of your feet. And with a shoe being a relatively enclosed environment, you're just asking for trouble with bacteria (smell!) and mold/mildew (destroys leather) buildup!

Monk strap I’d go with the visible socks. For the loafer I think that may depend on the cut of the loafer. I have a pair that look strange with visible socks, and I think it’s because they are cut rather deep beside the apron/tongue area.
I found this loafer in Vietnam. The brand was Madico. It cost the equivalent of 10 USD. The uppers and insole is leather. Cheap leather but leather none the less. They started out as a casual shoe that always was worn with socks but after 5 years of use, they ended up as my house slippers and never seen a sock since then. They're almost 20 years old now and they still are my slippers. Now they're never worn with socks. Mind you, they're so cheap that I have no hesitation dumping them in a bucket of soapy water when they stink then I just recondition them.

Socks always for me personally. Sockless or no show socks I feel don't look good on me. I feel that works for very slim guys but for bigger men, it just looks ridiculous in my opinion. For it to look good, you generally need to have a high break and a slim cut on pants. On a slim guy, this doesn't look out of place. But on a bigger man, it looks fairly disproportional in my opinion. For myself, a half or quarter break looks best and that pretty much makes it incompatible with going sockless
I usually wear no show socks with sneakers mostly, but I always have a bit of an issue with the lower part of the ankle, dunno if the sock doesn't cover enough or the sneaker's back is too high, or both.

Most others are perfectly decent as far as staying in place goes. Nearly all brands now have little silicone pads in the heal now to help with that.
Dress shoes require socks to be worn. They are uncomfortable without them. Tennis shoes and most other casual shoes can get away without socks being worn depending on the occasion.

I go sockless anytime I wear loafer. Wearing 🧦 with my loafer ruin the beauty of the shoes and my look as well, because I wouldn't want to formalize my casual look by wearing 🧦. If I can get no-show, I would give it a trial
the key is to put athletes foot powder on your feet if you decide to go sock less. if your feet are very hot wearing socks will make it sweat more anyway and will soak though the sock on very hot days. going sock less with foot powder is actually better if it is very hot 35 or above. just make sure to clean the inside of the shoe out every few days or so with a damp sponge dry tissue or rag and anti-bacterial spray and make sure to use febreze lot of febreze to make it smell nice after. i use to do this till i found out about no show low cut socks.
With shoes? Always.. With sandals? Never. And for anybody over 20, "no show" socks with dress shoes just looks ridiculous. (I do wear them with sneakers sometimes.) Same with "skinny jeans".

Always wear socks, with one exception...boat shoes. The no show socks are great if you can find one that stays in place.
I used to have this problem, but it's usually just a matter of size. I think the no show socks have a narrower range of foot size that fit.

In 2000 I started cutting old socks to no shows cause back then it was rather a rare find

With a suit your socks should be high enough so you don't show a gap with your pants. That easily happens when you sit down with crossed legs.
The perforated leather doesn't do it for me...

I love no show socks I have a pair of AE playa a 2.0, that I've never worn traditional socks with only no show socks and they look good I would no show socks with almost everything Edit and loafers? I haven't worn socks with loafers since the early 80s! It looks crazy with traditional socks
I go sockless anytime I wear loafer. Wearing 🧦 with my loafer ruin the beauty of the shoes and my look as well, because I wouldn't want to formalize my casual look by wearing 🧦. If I can get no-show, I would give it a trial

I used to wear no socks now I have foot fungus... now I will never go sockless .
the key is to put athletes foot powder on your feet if you decide to go sock less. if your feet are very hot wearing socks will make it sweat more anyway and will soak though the sock on very hot days. going sock less with foot powder is actually better if it is very hot 35 or above. just make sure to clean the inside of the shoe out every few days or so with a damp sponge dry tissue or rag and anti-bacterial spray and make sure to use febreze lot of febreze to make it smell nice after. i use to do this till i found out about no show low cut socks.
