Thanks for all your videos Dina!! Strategies and tutorials are all super helpful, but you've just been such a positive influence for me in terms of mindset and overcoming my fear of putting myself 'out there'. 12 hours is an insane amount of time, I appreciate you!
I wonder why people find it difficult to hire contractors. I'm working on 12 etsy stores with my team..All selling digital products, we provide complete services and specific services as well. We have 20 similar case studies on digital products store.
Yes yes yes!!! I remember asking for an outsourcing video a while ago on one of your community posts! 😍😍🤩🤩🤩😍😍🤩🤩 Thank youuuu . Maybe also talk about how to start outsourcing when we're extremely low on budget 😅
I've had my store since 01.2021 and for the first time I recently got the same notification for two of my items from Etsy as you did! Both my items were relisted by Etsy within 2-3 days... They're original, hand made items, no idea what bothered the bots... I think Etsy is cleaning up before Q4!
Thank you for your valuable information! I would love if you could do a detailed video for e rank? I opened my shop this month and I have about 10 listings but no sales. But I understand that getting those sales takes time. My another question is should I diversify or make more copy of listings? I think my existing listing have more competition than I thought. I did not do detailed research as much as I should have. So now I am thinking of making new products and dont do much for existing products because I see competitors have A LOT of similar listings for that existing product. So I feel that would be waste of time for me maybe!? So do you have any advice for this situation?
I talk a bit about eRank in my 1 hour tutorial "how to start an Etsy shop selling digital products" and I compare it with 3 other market research tools. As for your question about diversifying vs making variations... I would say for me I try to find a balance. I always make variations because to make an entirely new product, it takes hours and hours. But it's also good to diversify to reach a slightly different audience. But if you aren't confident in your current existing listings performing well due to competition, then I would focus on making new products. However, if you think that your existing products CAN compete and are either better than, or different than your competitors products, you could still try to work on them and make sure they are optimized for SEO, have good listing photos, etc and maybe run ads on them so they get in front of more people. It all depends!
Hello hope you're having a good day! Great video learned a couple of things regarding planning your work and all that. I've just opened a shop on etsy and it just got approved today. And for the freelancing hiring part I'm a freelancer too providing service related to canva template if you need any help regarding designing templates and all that.
FYI - just to warn you that Etsy tracks your IP addresses. So if your outsource helper happens to work on another Etsy shop that gets shut down for whatever reason it will also shut down your shop too. This has happened to shops in the past. Etsy doesn’t allow vpn because they use IP addresses to track your shop. Just a helpful warning ⚠️ especially if you think to use public WiFi. If another etsy owner got their shop closed down by some coffee shop ip address it would track it to your etsy shop as well. Also make sure all yr etsy shops are transparent within each shop. Add it in the about section or etsy can shut it down too. 👀🥶
I'm the only one logging into my Etsy, my contractors aren't logging in, so I think I'm good on that front. I think I'll close down my Lulu shop because I don't want to disclose my main Etsy shop :( Thanks for letting me know.
[Update July 31, 2023] I closed my LuluCreativeHouse shop because it's required that I disclose my other shops publicly on my profile. I'm not willing to disclose my first Etsy shop, nor risk both of them getting closed, so I closed the Lulu one. Get the Start Your Etsy Checklist (Google Docs) here👉tinyurl.com/dinaetsychecklist
Etsy has a list of keywords they screen through every time you post a listing , they might have found a close hit with your listing title which is why they deactivated it. Etsy in general is very brutal / unreasonable with the whole copyright problem , they will immediately take down listings if they sense potential issues even if they are totally wrong
I like your channel even though I don't have an etsy shop. I just feel like I'm having a chill and informative conversation with my extrovert friend sharing her experience! It's fun!😄
How do you outsource people to do your customer service? Do you have no choice but to give your virtual assistant your Etsy username and password so they can do customer service.
Yes please make a video on hiring process and how you go about choosing the right candidate and what you look for. Thank you! I love how you already know we're gonna ask you for a video for that.❤❤❤❤
@DinaLu I like your video, thank you for showing everything clearly. In my opinion you are doing pretty well as a Canadian shop. But you can do much better on etsy just by in depth product hunting and design research.
Yup, I just closed the shop a few days ago. The reason is that you're supposed to disclose your other Etsy shops when you open a new shop, and I didn't want to disclose my first shop.
I needed this information and cannot thank you enough. Especially about outsourcing - please can you tell us where you hired from as you are happy - so any place you recommend would be so valuable to know. Please keep going and thanks again !
@@tinaw.6178 you're right I didn't finish the video and I missed that, sorry. I just figured she wouldn't show her shop because that's what would happen to her ratings/conversion.
I have 2 shops: 1) My main one which is in its 8th month and has over 40 listings (I talk about this one in all my monthly update videos). I don't share the link to this one for many reasons, including what @msbmmc said about ruining the conversion rates on Etsy. 2) My new one called LuluCreativeHouse which you can find on Etsy. Currently it has 2 listings. I made this new one so I could test new products and also show everyone how I do things (for example, my 1 hour 7 min tutorial called "How to start an etsy shop selling digital products" shows exactly how I made the shop)
@@DinaLu yeah i searched and couldn't find it which is why I asked for a link but nevermind didn't worry about it, if you wanted people to purchase from it, you would have linked it
Get rid of your secondary etsy shop ASAP!! It is against the rules and you accounts will be terminated if they get you (and they will). I just saw a youtuber guy several days ago having this video where this exact thing happened. He opened a random new account to teach something to one of his course students and boom! He got terminated.. This is no joke. Read the rules and watch yourself.. etsy forbids 🚫 multiple accounts. Beware..
According to Etsy, it's okay to run multiple shops. "To run more than one shop, create a new Etsy account with a different email address, and open a new shop on the new account." Do you mean that the other RUclipsr got terminated because he created his account ONLY for teaching purposes? Could you direct me to which part of the Etsy rules/regulations you're referring to?

I'm happy to know that you're continuing with your shop.
I'd also love to know your process of outsourcing. Thanks for sharing your strategies!
Thank you! I will make a video on that :)

I'll add it to my list 😁🙌

Great Video Dina! Did you ever make that video on outsourcing? If so, I cannot find it.
Yes I did! It's called "How to Hire Freelancers & Contractors in 2024" ruclips.net/video/RR4CLq9pkIY/видео.htmlsi=V54TdA2l07PfDVjU
How do you outsource people to do your customer service? Do you have no choice but to give your virtual assistant your Etsy username and password so they can do customer service.

I will!!! Next month probably :)
So the listing you had deactivated actually didn't copy anyone or have anything in it that would have caused that email?
Well from my own perspective, no. I'm not sure what triggered the warning email from Etsy 🤷♀️
@@DinaLu Interesting. I would ask them. That way whatever it was you'll know for next time. And also maybe be able to let others know as well.
Do you need a business license to sell digital products?
The rules might differ depending on which country you live in, so I would double check with an accountant 😊

She doesn't give her Etsy shop link because people will go to look at her shop and not buy anything, which will ruin her ranking/conversion on Etsy.

How long do you need for a creating a listing if you actively work on it ?
Usually a completely new product takes at least 3 hours, not including the listing photos

You can have multiple Etsy shops but you have to put in your about section about your other Etsy shops. It has to be transparent between both shops.
